This was caused by an old registry key in windows that was altered thinking it was registered. When I went to reinstall 2003 it was still there in the registry.

Funny, I've installed/uninstalled various 3DMark series many times, and I've never had any "altered registry values" ...

I thought "Upgrade motherboard = reinstall" was one of the unspoken Rules of Windows.

ahh i see, i'm sorry i missunderstood you. anyway, it still looks like you don't have to pay anything as you could likely get away with a simple cleaning of your registry.

The 5900 ain't tapped out yet. This score was with a 2.8c @ 3.5g, but now I'm running a 3.0c @ 3.6 (not tapped out yet either). I don't expect the 3.0 to be any higher, due to the lower FSB on it while OC'ed.

edit- the 3.0c @ 3.6 scored 7290- better than I expected!!

Yeah, 5900's/Ultras, 9700pro's and 9800/pro's are all getting similar performance. Doesn't make a difference which one you buy.

When i overclocked the cpu later on to 3200+ then my score was .5596...wasn't a really huge difference.

Wow, I notice that a lot of FX users are not using FM approve drivers. Like the 53.03's which have "optimizations" in them.

I forget mine, 7800 something or other.
