Ruger SP101 is also a nice compact revolver (5 shot .357) that makes a great CCW piece.

Did somebody say Python?

just out of curiosity, how much are these m4's and other rifles costing you guys?

Looks like an expensive hobby. I probably can't afford any, I'm knee deep in student loans. :\

If I part it out and build it myself - around $750 or so, for the parts I prefer at least.

Buying a new one in a store - $800-900 for a bushmaster/RRA/DPMS, and about $1000 and up for a Colt.

Bushmaster > Colt.

Of all the AR15 brands, the Bushmaster XM15E2S is the most, if not exactly, identical to the service rifle. Except for the 1:9 barrel instead of the 1:7 barrel to fire both 62gr and 55gr exceptionally well. Other than that, it's more exact than Colts own AR-15, down to the proper greenish gray color on the stock, the correct phosphate coating that smells like a book of matches every time you drop the bolt, etc.

Probably had 1000 rds in my new XM15 by now, never a single problem. I bend up the front of the feed lips on the mags before I even fired it the first time. Common problem with AR15/M16 mags where the front of the round is held too low such that the bolt jams the bottom edge of the case mouth into the front edge of the magazine and flips the rounds end over end into the chamber.

Accurate out of the box too. When I battled sighted for 300 yards with a 25 yard sight with iron sights, I emptied a 30 rd mag, and there was only a single hole the size of a quarter dollar coin

I should have picked up one of those for $1200 when I had the chance. Was just like that one, but in the lustery satin nickel finish with the smooth glassy petrified wood looking grips. Pure sex. *snick snick* Rolex what?

Edit: like this http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=71770753 but it was a more dull and satin look and I think it was an Elite. Wish I picked it up

Yes, a capitol city firearms can. I actually have two USP45 tactical's, I picked up one used out of a local want ad paper (price was too good to ignore and was in brand new conidtion). I can use the can on either one, but I keep the can in its own case with one of them, and the other one I keep in the bug out box.

No arguments here. I am a bushmaster fanboy myself, especially after they threatened to take the entire business and move it out of Maine when the state legislature was considering a state AWB.

I really wish Ronnie Barrett would offer something in the AR platform other than the 6.8 SPC.

Its amazing how much people are willing to pay to get one of those Colt Ponies that actually have "AR-15" written on the side. Total waste of money, kind of like an 8800Ultra.

Heh, you got the version that accepts a M203 grenade launcher. Took me like 2 hours of staring at both pictures and I still couldn't figure out the difference between the two. I went without the notch. Even if zombies attacked and I got ahold of a M203 and grenades I still wouldn't want to attach it. I carry a M203 on my real M4 at work, and its a heavy son of a bitch.

I always go with YHM or Surefire forearms. Both have very nice finishes, fit very tight, and do not require the barrel to be free-floated. The YHM is quite a bit cheaper than the surefire, but both are worth the money. Generally I look at YHM first though.

Pardon the gun n00b, but what kind of rifle is that? Who's the manufacturer, where did you get it, etc, etc...?
Looks to be an Olympic Arms OA-93-CAR 16" AR-15 Carbine with an aftermarket quad rail barrel shroud and modified grip (among other accessories).

Yah grip is an Ergo (have them on all my AR15s, favorite grip, very comfy). Forearm, flash supressor, forearm end cap, rail covers, etc. are Yankee Hill. Good stuff.

Good eye. Its a blast. I would like to get new furniture for it though, the stock is just too short for me. I'd like to have all composite stock, forearms, and grip but they are hard to find. Anyone know of a place to get it?
