Too bad its not playable at that res for me. Perhaps if I lowered the game settings.. but Im not so sure I would rather have AA, than good textures.

It seems incredibly smooth, I havent run it with fraps but it feels like Im rarely getting a dip below 50 fps. Im pretty impressed overall. There is some major lag that happens occassionaly and when you first start the level sometimes its very choppy for about 5-10 seconds but after that it rolls without a hitch.
woah woah woah there man....howd u get 12x10 res? my tfts currently having to make do with 12x9

Put this at the end of your shortcut/.exe target command (right click the shortcut or .exe, select properties)...
+szx 1280 +szy 1024"
Change the value to whatever res you want and dont forget the quote at the end.
I dont know if you'll notice much of a difference from 12x9 though.

edit- Yeah, it overwrites it on mine. Dont forget the " on the end, I did and thought something

Its being forced because its not an option in the game, or what Scott Evans was referring to as "Max Settings" with those specs. Im sure there's an IQ benefit but 16AF will definitely impact performance, especially with this type of draw distance. Try it with it off and see if its smoother.

woah thanks, that did it, I still think it should be an ingame option though
What is the command to display FPS.

It is much smoother with no AF. 15FPS more average. But the textures do look flat. What do the number settings mean for AF? The draw distance, quality, or both?

LOL I am pissed to, and to quote Scott Evans: "If you want to max all your settings up, you will need P4 3.0GHz, 1GB RAM, 256MB video card"
Which is exactly what I have, my video card is an X800 Pro. And I'm running at 35FPS at 1024x768, AA 4x/AF 16x, All Settings Maxed. The only time I reach 60FPS is when I stare into the air/ground or when I'm inside a building.

Good to see you're getting better performance. Personally I cant even tell the difference between 8xAF and 16xAF. Even 4x to 8x isn't that noticable unless you're looking for it. I think 16x is just plain overkill. Try 4xAF if the flatter textures in the distance bother you, you'll get better IQ but there wont be as big of a hit on the frames. But like I said this game has some major draw distance (at least at ground level), I think it'll be taxed by AF more than most.

Not to be anal but I said between 8xAF and 16xAF. In other words if you're going to max out AF I dont see a point going past 8x anyway. But 4xAF would probably be the best middle ground between IQ and performance.
