ground beef/turkey
+whatever is in my kitchen cabinets
+couple of hours in the crockpot

I made some chili recently with chopped up onion, 2 cans of kidney beans, can of corn, frozen corn, frozen peas, 2 small cans of tomato sauce, sriracha, cumin, chili powder, salt, ground pepper, and a little water.

I'd like to think it was somewhat healthy by using some turkey and throwing in the veggies, but probably not.

Why wouldnt that be healthy? As long as you didnt eat the whole quantity?

I just made a big batch in the Crock Pot this morning. Not really "classic" chili, but chili none the less.

2.5 lbs ground beef
2 lbs bottom round
1 can corn
2 cans pinto beans
.5 lb mushrooms
1 can whole tomatoes (smashed by hand)
1 can tomato sauce
1 large yellow onion
bunch of chili powder
some cumin
salt
pepper

Loin meat, chop it up and fry it fairly hard, boild up some water/whole fresh tomatoes at the same time, pour the fried loin into a proper stew pan, press the fresh tomatoes through it, add chili fruit, salt and white pepper to your liking, add green peas or corn if you like, let it boil until it's as thick as you want it serve with bread of choice.

Don't EVER used canned food, if you're going to do that, just bloody eat it out of the can, it's not meant for human consumption except in times of extreme need.

I cooked some this weekend but made a FATAL mistake. The canned tomatoes I used had basil in it and it is overpowering the chili. All I taste is basil Also I soaked the beans for two freaking days and it cooked for 9 hours and they are still undercooked. WTF

Yeah this can be an issue with any extras in anything. IF you buy 'chili' beans, they could have any mixture of spices that could mess it up.

BTW- If you can find this stuff in your grocery store, it makes fantastic chili. Add beans or no beans or whatever the hell you like (I really don't care believe it or not).

It comes with:
(1) Chili Packet with Award Winning Seasoning
(1) Packet of Cayenne Pepper for those Seeking Sizzling Flavor
(1) Packet of Salt
(1) Packet of Masa Flour for Thickness

The masa (a fine corn flour) adds a really nice flavor to it. If you've ever eaten a tamale, masa is the soft coating around the meat

dude, you should boil them for a few minutes and then simmer them for an hour or two. Then drain the water (this removes the toxins and complex sugars) and put them in your recipe.

Recipe? I put in chili types of ingredients. Lots of them. For meat, I usually use 99% lean ground venison. A few packages (no clue how many pounds.)

It does, but it's called Chili with beans. If I make a pizza with white sauce I refer to it as a White Pizza. I'm pretty sure if a person ordered a pizza and got one with white sauce they'd go WTF is this! same deal with chili.

2lb ground beef
small handful of Oregano
1 garlic clove minced
2 tablespoons of chili powder
1 teaspoon of sugar
a dash of cinnamon.
a hand full of crushed red peppers
white pepper
Cayenne pepper
1 small can tomato paste + small can filled with water
some Masa flour to thicken it up.
a splash of vegetable oil.
NO FUCKING BEANS OF ANY KIND, NOOOONE! I've never made Chili with Beans so I have no recipe for that.

You call this chili?? It doesn't even have any cumin in it. Sorry, but anything with a tsp of sugar in it + no cumin isn't chili.
