Two tests that I run:

Drivers set to: Quality

1024x768
All settings High
AA: 4x
AF: 16x
Water: Reflect All
Vsync: off

SCORE: 99fps

1280x960
All settings HIGH
AA: 4x
AF: 16x
Water Reflect All
Vsycn: off

SCORE: 78.9 fps

Why don't we all just use these settings and specify your AA/AF level in your post. This should make things easier. I get the same results with reflect world and reflect all. I think only Half-Life 2 benfits from reflect all.

I think this test is heavily CPU dependant because in the last few seconds when you're staring at the walls your framrate jumps over 200 and throws off the average. But someone with a slow CPU and nice videocard would be gettings less of a spike in the end and a lower average.

No, that sounds about right. ATI's do a little better in Source than Nvidia cards & the X800XL is more on par with a 6800 GT any way.

Hmm whats up with Matt's x800xl? Why does it get 13 more fps than mine? I know my Asus x800xl is underclocked, thats why I bring it up to default using ATItool.....unless the better score is because of his better ram? Or did he overlock and never told us?

It is OCed a bit, nothing fantastic. I listed the OC in my first post. But I don't see me 6600GT beating any X800XLs, unless it's one that is being CPU limited in a major way..

Those X800XL's totally destroy the 6800gt's. Why is the difference so huge? (20-30fps)

Its only in HF2/CS:S, in Doom 3 x800xl gets destroyed by 6800GTs, the 6800GT gets 30% more performance. x800xl is just no good in OpenGL.

Yeah i wish the 6800 was as good in Source, since imo the Source engine is the most well designed I've seen.

Meh, I still want a 6800GT because it handles F.E.A.R and BF2 better, games I wanna play now, well currently playing BF2. And I will soon be getting FarCry which is also a 6800GT game.

But HF2 on x800xl does look pretty good , I have it all max, 1280x1024, all max, AA = 6x and AF = 16x and I get 0 lag, I'm only half way through the game though.
