For those of you with Nvidia cards running 6x AA, you should know that it's actually doing no AA as Nvidia cards do not support 6x AA at this time. ATI cards do.

You can check this for yourself. I ran four benches, one with no AA, 2xAA, 4xAA and 6xAA.

My results(system details on system in sig):

1280x960
All settings HIGH
AF: 16x
Water Reflect All
Vsycn: off

SCORE w/ no AA: 114 fps
SCORE w/ 2x AA: 101 fps
SCORE w/ 4x AA: 84.5 fps
SCORE w/ 6x AA: 114 fps

Clearly 6x AA is not functional. No card can do the same fps without AA and with 6x AA.

I was aware in the past the Nvidia cards didn't support 6x AA, but wasn't that fix in recent driver updates?

I don't think so. I'm running a 6600GT with the 77.76 drivers. You can see the results.

That makes sense, actually. I was pretty astonished at my fps, having just recently acquired my card and never having run the CS:S stress test yet. I'll run it with 4x AA and report back.

Now for the timedemos, run it on all high settings, reflect all, AF at 16x, AA at 4x, and vary the resolution to record varying results. Here is the link again:

either you should just give this thread bumps, or no one really wants to do this anymore. i personally just dont want to because so many other people have a bigger e-penis than me, and i don't like wasting time on something i don't enjoy or need to do.

hmm Garth, those scores seem kinda low for a 6800GT running at only 1028x7 resolution. I dunno, but I get around 50-60 for each demo.

I have got to try OC'ing my system. Funny, I gained 5fps just by upgrading the drivers to 77.77. That's cool!

Yeah, like wafflesandsyrup said, I'm running SLI'd 6600GT's. I would definitely recommend upgrading to 77.77. They're available on nVidia's driver page. Just going from 77.72 to 77.77 bumped me up ~5fps on average.

My OC'ing isn't going so great. Trying to install nForce4 Drivers 6.65 from ASUS so I can load the latest BIOS (1013 Final) but 6.65 keeps BSoD'ing my system. Meh, I'll try with what I've got now.
