Oh gosh, that's a good one.

Half-Life, because the cinematic storytelling experience blew me away. I was late to the 3D video game thing & this is essentially what got me into computers...I needed a video card to play it & had no idea what that even was, down the rabbit hole I went!

Portal, because it was just so much fun.

Mario, and if I had to pick, probably Super Mario Brothers 3. I still play them all the time with my family, never gets old!

Counter-Strike, that was my first intro to LAN gaming. A lot of fun online, even more fun at a LAN party when you can yell at each other in person

Castlevania series, love 'em, especially the old console versions, no matter how impossible some of them were. And of course SOTN because wow, the graphics on a platformer at the time.

Serious Sam, because I love FPS games & it's just so silly.

Twisted Metal 2, many good times spent with siblings & friends growing up blowing the crap out of each other.

The Wizardy series
The Ultimate series
All Infocom games

All of these are dated now but I remember playing all of these for the first time. Each series of games pushed what gaming could be. Infocom games are text based but the games were every detailed. I remember mapping out Zork on paper with all of my notes on how to solve the puzzles. Wizardy was one of the first D&D styled games, a maze with basic 3D hallways in a small window. Ultima refined what Wizardy started and expanded it with a crude story and graphics. The later games refined everything.

Battlefield 1942: Desert Combat. Perfection in just about every way.

Diablo 2. Holy shitload addiction. Haven't played in 10 years, but was looking for something over the weekend and stumbled across the discs for it. I was strong enough to leave them untouched, but just barely.

oh man, i played that game at LAN parties all night long

ran over so many guys with jeeps

had so many people crash their planes into my jeeps

That was a truly great game. I've still got the installer on my archive disk. I wonder if it will work in Windows 10...
