Ah, Code Veronica. Wasn't my cup of tea. I suppose if your a die hard RE fan you MUST play Code Veronica. My favorite RE of all time has to be Resident Evil for the Game Cube.

I really wish they had a paperboy game for my VR bike, that'd be way fun in 3D! Especially if you could knock over mailboxes, TV dishes, throw the paper for a dog to catch, etc.

...park your bike in the lawn and boink the lonely housewife...

I like video games.

If I had to pick one I'd probably say Asheron's Call. I had a deeper, more rewarding experience playing that game than any other.

ah, i can see i'm not the only one who has posted several instead of just one.

my Favourite Videogame Of All Time was - without a doubt - Blacklight Retribution, before the developers butchered it in a manner so horrible that it should be recognized as "game that was most ruined by its own developers".

i have spent .. i don't know, five thousand hours, in this game? At some point i spent my entire waking day playing, i would play saturday until exhaustion, wake up on sunday and immediately start playing, and put in 10-hour days. Think the most assiduous MMORPG player, but for a shooter.
I played between 2012 and 2017 without rest .. i could have become a doctor, but not, i chose blacklight.

Also memorable for me was WipeOut 2097 (also known as WipeOut XL)

where i'm pretty sure i still hold a record (19.2 on Talon's Reach), depending if you accept only "as game intended" times or if you accept that sniveling french frog's out of bounds cheating times. (respekt)

A lot of games in the past were cool, like Wasteland, where i would just grind and grind and grind to have the most uber characters. This was back in the C64 years; i loved that game, but it was nowhere near as important to me as Wipeout or BLR.

there have been many other games i have loved, because i was young, because they caught my imagination (i.e. all the AD&D gold box games), because i played them with friends (Gran Turismo, Tekken 2 & 3, C&C95 - where i was a bloodthristy maniac and regularly won 1v3 games), or because the gameplay was so fun, like Lemmings, or even because the writing was amazing, like Day Of The Tentacle. But none have had such an impact on me as WO and BLR.

Counter Strike and World of Warcraft probably dominated 10 years of my life til I got older and life started dominating my life.

Special shout out to Medal of Honor Allied Assault for getting me into online multi-player.

Gorillas, from 1991, the first ever game I played, introduced to me by my dad. So much fun:

Starcraft 1. Would watch my uncle play over his shoulder in awe. My first RTS. Probably a good reason why I am into space and sci fi as well.

Age of Empires 2. Introduced to me by my cousin. Probably my overall favorite game ever. Still play it today with the same cousin and friends who introduced me to it.

Fifa World Cup 98. A friend from school gave me a pirated copy. First ever sports game, absolutely loved it. Once I learned how to do crosses to headers, I was unstoppable against the AI.

NBA Live 2000. First ever basketball game (my favorite sport). Still salty about Goddamn Jeff Hornacek hitting a bullshit halfcourt shot at the buzzer which ruined my almost perfect regular season record as the Indiana Pacers.

Day of Defeat: Source. My main game during the teen years. Got pretty good, played competitively on a clan. dod_avalanche all day every day.

Team Fortress 2. Bought it because it was The Orange Box and I was really interested in Portal, but this Pixar looking game seemed interesting too. My favorite FPS ever, played since the beta on and off, still to this day. Do not like how cosmetics have ruined the aesthetic, but it still looks great after all these years.

WTF, I almost forgot Baldur's Gate II and Neverwinter Nights! BG II is my favorite RPG, and NWN is in my hall of fame because of the thousands of hours of gameplay I got out of fan made modules.

Super Mario Bros. 3
Doom
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!

I loved a lot of other games, way too many to list, but I think if I had to pick three as my desert island games, those would be them. I might swap out Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! for an adventure game or more modern game like Half-Life 2 to keep things interesting, but I still play through that game regularly even after 25+ years.

Rough list of games that I spent the most time on and/or still play often:

Crash Bandicoot 2/3
Spyro the Dragon 1
Pokemon Red/Blue and later Diamond
Final Fantasy VII, IX, X
SOCOM: US Navy Seals 1/2
Counter Strike:Source and GO to a lesser extent
The Witcher 3
Skyrim
PUBG (unfortunate that this shitty game probably has the most play time of any of these, possibly barring CS:S/GO, but my buddies and I liked it for a while and I wouldn't "hang out" with them otherwise due to location. Luckily we've moved on to Overwatch, which will probably end up making this list in the near future)

PUBG is getting there, I just wish they'd fix it. The lag is absurd and it needs polish. Unfortunately Fortnite, which actually fills me with anger, seems to be taking over as a leader in the "King of the Shrinking Hill" genre. Hopefully PUBG gets its act together.

PvZ Garden Warfare 1 and now 2. I play it almost every day and I'm over 40. My kids make fun of me and it's geared toward them.

UT was also a favorite - my coworkers would play past midnight together and we'd talk about it all day at work. Good times. Never could get into the sequels.

WoW - went through quite a few years from the first expansion through MoP. Then I lost a lot of people I played with and it just got more boring as a result. Thankful to quit.

I loved Utopia. Eventually I would fill the seas with fishing boats and the land with factories. It was a glorious vision.

Do you remember that bug where you can nudge past the PT boats blockage and wreck havoc to the fishing boats behind it? This and Dungeon and Dragon game was my fav.

Doom.
Duke Nukem
Quake CTF/Action Quake
CS

I loved 2004 as well, but I couldn't get into anything after that. The original was so good in its day.

Killed alot of time on Descent. Then Starseige Tribes (aka Tribes 1). Then UT, UT2k3, UT2k4.
More recently I spent too much time on Tribes Ascend and Fallout 4.

Favorite was Starseige Tribes. Once I got an actually 3D card (Voodoo II) and cable internet, it was an unmatched experience.

Picking one? Ugh..I suppose the original Zelda or SMB. Either of those I can go back and play at any time and love it.

In order of the significance they had in my life.

1. World of Warcraft
2. Counter Strike: Source
3. League of Legends (only one I still currently play)
4. Socom / Socom 2: US Navy Seals
5. Knights of the Old Republic

It is possible that as time goes on League of Legends will surpass CS:S and potentially WoW - depends mostly on if the game continues to keep my interest both as a player and as an E-sport.
