I still cant believe we havent seen a proper TIE Fighter game in years.
I guess its too much work to put effort into a proper story when you can make easy money with loot crates.

At this point I'd just settle for remakes with modern 3D acceleration. Even that might be asking too much.

hey guys and gals I've been playing this game called removed, if I had to give a nice big description of the game I'd say it is like Fire Emblem and a 8-bit version of Sid Meier's Civilization with not quite as complicated mechanics. It's a free game and is easy to get the hang of it if you aren't the biggest into the games listed above. The game is very well done and the developer is quite active and is good about responding to emails and is open to suggestions to make the game better. The game itself goes into depth, from its large selection of units to its many upgrades that add content to the game. Oh did I mention you can build buildings (from archery ranges to castles) and research technologies to better your units in the game. The upgrades themselves cost gems to get, but you can get them multiple ways, like donating to the developers for example. You don't even have to do that, the game includes tons of campaigns that have a lot of maps and you can earn more gems then you will ever need for the game. The game also includes a multiplayer function online and local or you can play against bots, the AI in the game is pretty good, the people you play against might not be though. You can choose to create a profile if you want (needed for online play). One of my personal favorite part of the game is the map created (also requires profile), but if you have a created map and think it would be good as a map in general for the game talk to the developers and as long as the map is balanced there is a possibility it can be added as a random map for non campaign use, or it can be added as a map you can download along with many other maps made by members of the community, another thing I've noticed is if you make a map and it's put into the game itself the developers make sure to give you credit, I've even seen campaigns made by community members. Like all game it has its ups and downs, like multiplayer matches can last for days and if someone forgets about the game you started and doesn't take their turn well you are stuck from what I've heard, but I haven't had that problem yet. Sometime you will wait hours for your turn but you got to understand you could be playing with some on the other side of the world. Overall the game is well balanced among the units and is updated often, you can even go back and look through the version log (that will tell you all about the fixes and added content). No kidding, you need to install this game right now! You’re losing so much, not living up to your full potential! Go and download the game now and you won’t be able to put your phone down for hours! You’ll just want to play one more turn!! I personally would give the game a 10/10, but don't take my word for it check it out yourself, you might be surprised.

Are you paid in gems per hour or gems per post?

Donating to the developer for gems, priceless

They claimed that the genre for "space sim" and "flight sim" that required flight sticks is dead.

Of course, then Elite Dangerous came along

Anyway, games that were so good they actually shaped my life:

- Zork
- Ultima III - IV - V - VI
- Castle Wolfenstein
- Doom - Doom II
- Duke Nuke 'Em
- XWing-Tie Figher series
- Mechwarrior series
- World of Warcraft (first few years)
- FarCry 1, 2, 3, 4 (probably 5 now )
- Crysis 1, 2 3
- Batman: Arkham Asylum
- Tomb Raider 2013 game (seriously, it's an amazing story)
- and currently: Elite Dangerous

The #1 game of all time in my head though: Witcher 3. It's so good I've replayed in at least 5 times. The characters and world are so strong and developed they could make a Star Wars-esque movie series out of it. It's THE game I recommend to anyone wanting to try something new

I've never played those civ-type mobile games but I read somewhere that you have to pay real money to keep your city/territory safe while you're away from the game. The bigger it gets the more you have to pay to protect your real world investment.

That is just insane. People are so stupid.

Wasn't Eve Online that game where you paid real money for ships? Some groups had armadas with with $25K wrapped up!

Not quite, there was the capability of purchasing, in-game, a token granting you access to the game for longer (basically in-game money for RL subscription). This provided a rational cost of in-game resources... With that, you could attribute a 'cost' to a ship, fleet, armada, station, etc. There's probably a few corps that did some kind of purchasing for large-scale stuff, but I doubt that many people legit spent $$ on in-game ships.

Now, if you want to talk about Star Citizen....

People definitely spend hundreds if not thousands on Eve Online Characters. At least they did several years back, when someone I know sold off several of his accounts/characters for quite a bit of money (he did it to quit the game, which had become a draining addiction in his life).

Star Citizen is supposed to remove the option to buy ships directly for money once the game launches, so we'll see what happens.

I don't understand how that is supposed to work: so the early adopters that had access to real-money ship purchasing will essentially be forever untouchable by the new people that join, playing by the rules that then exist and everyone is governed by...except those people that got another set of rules?

It's not like they are going to remove your $$$thousands-paid ships from accounts when they go live, will they? LOL--now wouldn't that be hilarious?

Why are they forever untouchable? Are those who play a game on day 1 of release untouchable against those who buy the game months later? No, they aren't.

head starts can be overcome, and well considering this game will be released sometime between 5 years from now and never, it's likely the current players will have quit by then...but this sounds like a pay-to-win mechanic that is removed on release. So, new players don't have that option. That is a very different kind of advantage.

Or are they just really expensive skins with no actual stats/game play mechanics?

I wonder how that “Donate Gems to the Developer” game turned out?

Remember it’s not pay to win when you buy gems to donate to the developer to get in game bonuses.

Mine are in no particular order:

World Series baseball 98 - sega Saturn
Final Fantasy 7 - PlayStation
Legend of Zelda OoT - N64
Does the baseball game stand out from other baseball games?

I was never into sports games, but I know some baseball games deserve appreciation. I hear Ken Griffey Jr's Major League Baseball on SNES was pretty unique. Baseball Stars for NES / Neo Geo MVS (arcade) was supposed to be a lot of fun.
