i cant remember my first one, it was windows 3.2 and really bad......but my dad got scammed into spending too much on it (it was old from a company his brother worked for)
the monitor that came with it had bad screen burn-in

next one was P2 455mhz with 128mb ram which i upgraded to 256 i think...
video card was an ATI Rage 128....later upgraded to an Nvidia 64mb card
it had a soundblasters card....forget what type
upgraded to 40gb HDD

next computer was another my dad bought and overpaid for from his brother
p3 850mhz
512 ram
built in video card (welded into chasis so i couldnt upgrade) i think it was ATI
9gb HDD

then i went to myself:
p4 3ghz
nvidia 6600gt
asus p5gd4 mobo
200gb HDD
1gb (2x512) kingston ram

and now my current rig in my system to replace that

Windows Me

Purchased from Dell in October of 2000.

Damn Windows Me sucked. I remember I always had to restart the computer before shutting down to avoid the BSOD.

LOL @ Windows ME! I hated that os! It's one of the worst ones that windows made.

First computer I used was an Apple ][+ in high school. I quickly got familiar with Locksmith 5.1 and Nibbles Away...and learned about sync bytes and gap bytes on the floppy disk drive. I learned to code on that beast!

First computer I owned was a 4 MHz z80 CPM based system with 8" disk drives and an AT&T 1200 baud dumb modem. I'd connect to BBS's in different cities using SprintNet (for those of you who remember it.) I figured out that the z80 could run 8080 and 8088 code and ported Zork I and Zork II onto my 8" floppies using a serial cable for data transfer. It ran great!

First "real" computer I owned was a 386DX w/ 2MB RAM, no sound card, a 50 MB HDD, and some sort of VGA video card....also ran DRDOS...

Brings back memories!

intel 486sx-25
4MB RAM
120MB Hard Drive

I added a CD-ROM (2x Sony) and a SoundBlaster and 14.4 US Robotics modem.

Of course, I also OCed it to 33Mhz, later upgraded the CPU to a DX2/66, the RAM to 16MB and the hard drive to nearly 1GB combined (540 and 420MB drives)

It would play the hell out of 7th Guest.

Apple mac Plus
8 Mhz Motorola 68000 CPU
4 megabytes of RAM
2 floppy drives
50 megabyte external hard drive
Strangely enough, the one thing that it didn't do was word processing since someone had deleted it before it was given to me and no one had the disks anymore.
Still, it had plenty of games! I remember playing Shufflepuck and StuntCopter and possibly Fool's Errand. I still have it somewhere, and I'm pretty sure it still works even though I haven't turned it on in a year or so.

Atari 600XL with 8K, cassette tape drive
Spent $150 of my hard earned mimimum wage at $3.35/hr back in 1984 to upgrade it with another 8K to 16K total so I could play some games
I remember spending hours typing in these BASIC programs in the back of magazines to run some ridiculous little games
Man I feel old

TRS-80 that my grandfather bought us for Christmas in 1980 (I think). We were about 4-5yo at the time and he told my parents to make sure we learn how to use it. Said they would be the future, very smart man. Still remember the cassette tapes.

First one I used: Tandy TRS-80 Model III
First one my parents bought me: Mattel Aquarius, soon returned for C64 w/ gheto tape drive. went through a few of them w/ faulty power supplies before we ended up with a IBM PC XT Portable (Luggable w/ Amber 4" CRT) That was our main PC for a LONG TIME until...

First one I bought while living at home: Wang 386SX20 w/ 2MB RAM and Windows 3.0

Many many others along the way, all custom built.
