A fail moment I remember is not being able to get passed a certain point in Metal Gear Solid 2. You got to this bridge where you needed to shoot claymores in first person view because they were hidden from overhead view. You needed to adjust the view with the shoulder buttons in order to see more of them, but there was this one I couldn't find... I spent a week looking for the damn thing, and then I run across a note in the manual you can press BOTH SHOULDER BUTTONS to stand up taller, like on tip-toes to see more. Found the last fucking mine. Like I said, I spent a week stuck there.

Playing Dark Souls on my PC with an XBOX360 controller and got super pissed after dying to one of the bosses (Great Wolf Sif) a million times. This stupid ass would jump around and land on me. Had him down to a pixel of health after trying to beat him for an hour, then he did his supper jump and...

Yep. Paid $5 to buy it off the neighbors at their yard sale in the mid-90s and it turned out to be brand new (every bag and twist tie untouched), presumably because they had a front-loading NES and this was redundant for them (I know they had an NES and had seen it on their TV in the past). Figured I was tripling my money and needed every bit for my N64, so this had to be around the launch in September 1996. I sold my SNES and all the stuff too but I got most of that back.

I threw mine away, actually, got mine brand new at the store back when it was first being made. I threw that and my original NES in the trash one day when cleaning. Emulators came on the scene and thought to myself, well, don't need this crap anymore. Also pitched the Zelda 1 gold cart with them.
Plus I hated how the game genie woudln't work in the top loader. My original NES was a little rough anyway.
I should have at least kept the bone controllers as many people seek those for some reason.

I threw away a lot of stuff like that in my early 20's, small place, needed the room..ya know.

I was in a raid. we were doing ICC anyway i was a tank and the other tank goes "Damnit i need a 5-10 minute break. my Wife is demanding sex and if i don't do it she is turning off the router". Ok so we take a break.. can't do icc (at the time anyway) without 2 tanks. We were talking shit about him only needing 5-10 for sex..

best part? he is back in 4 minutes saying ok he is done and she is happy and he is ready. oh man you should have heard vent. the poor guy ended up leaving the guild and game after that night. i kinda felt sorry for him..and his wife

Well, for those that don't know this game, you rely on other players to make you money. If they embargo you, you can't make money. Eventually the loan flat out killed me despite my relatively strong position.

Batman: Arkham Asylum on the PC - no clear instructions about how to use the cryptographic sequencer. There's a bit where you have to do it in record time and defuse two bombs, and because I didn't know how to use it properly, that part of the game was REALLY frustrating. Dead, dead, dead, dead, dead again, dead...

I figured out how to use that device properly eventually, and the game became a lot more playable after that

So I was in 3rd grade or so and had an SNES with Mario paint.

I used the mouse, and thought "this doesn't make sense, it's too easy"

So I flipped the mouse around.

For years I thought the big part of the mouse went to the top, and the buttons to the bottom... I got very good at using an upside down mouse.
