DVRs: TiVo DT, Comcast HD-DVR, HTPC (not pictured)

edit: The thermostat has been hung properly and painted around now. The wires are still running down from the TV but we're only in this apartment for another eight months and I don't feel like knocking any holes in the wall.

I have a 360 hooked up to a 27" CRT that I sit about four feet from in my computer chair, and I have klipsch promedia 2.1 speakers for audio. The speakers are actually computer speakers, but I've got an adapter that lets me plug the 360's audio directly into them. I think it's pretty cool actually, before I rigged this up I'd always had mono sound from TV speakers.

edit: Yeah it's kinda cheap, but here it is

The setup is a tad bit different right now. The TV and speakers are off to the left of the dresser. This prevents the controller from disconnecting from the console.Although it still happens occasionally.

There is also a subwoofer to the left of the dresser that isn't shown in the picture.

My setup

Pardon the horrible quality, cell phone pic and not the greatest camera on it. I love the phone (moto e815) but it doesn't have the greatest camera and now it doesn't want to charge the battery either, DOH. In any case quick rundown of what you see:

TV: Samsung 42" DLP (720 P native)
Receiver: Harmon Kardon AVR-230
Console: 360 Pro w/ HD-DVD add on
Audio: Sharp MD-R3 3CD Changer/Minidisc Deck
DVD Recorder: Panasonic DMR-ES15
Cable box: Motorola 3412 (HD DVR)
Front Speakers: Paradigm Atom v5
Center Channel: Cerwin Vega V-5c
Subwoofer: Paradigm PDR-10
Rears (not shown): Budget KLH
Not easily visible is also an Xbox original with modified firmware (softmod)
Headphones (for those late night sessions): Audio Technica AD700s

Nice sounding setup, but I thought Sony only ever did LCoS for their SXRDs, when did they do a DLP?

PS3, Xbox 360, Acer AL2216W 22". PC specs have changed since. CPU now OC'd to 2.8ghx, RAM, increased to 4GB, EVGA 8800GT replaced the 7900GTO.

I like this setup a bit. It's not extreme but simple and clean.

I couldn't tell ya man 'cause I really don't know. I shopped around for a while before I finally decided on this (screen size vs price, I couldn't find anything to beat it). It's got all the options and features I wanted (1080p #1, multiple inputs, weigth...etc). It's crisp, has great viewing angles and hasn't made me want anything else so far. Well, maybe a 50in + plasma.....

The PC in my sig below is my main gameing platform. Consoles are as follows:

Xbox 360
GameCube
PS2
3DO (yes, still play it)
Sega Genesis
SNES
NES

I have about 11 more consoles in my closet but the ones listed above I still use. I play on my Samsung LN32A330 HDTV and all sound is routed to my Denon 3805 receiver. The Samsung scales the old game systems pretty good. The floor in front of my hi-fi system shelf is littered with various cables and controllers. Good thing I am divorced and my current GF doesnt mind (she has her own apartment a few miles away).

A 27" CRT I bought at Best Buy in 2004 for about $75. The Wii is plugged into a cheap VCR/DVD combo player via RCA connectors, and the VCR/DVD is plugged into the TV also via RCA connectors. (The super awesome S-video connector on the TV is being used for the DirecTV receiver/DVR.)

Beat that shit.

Finally got around to taking a picture (it's not the best quality): Link

Though it's kind of dark, you can see the PS3 sitting on the bottom of the TV stand on top of a now nearly useless HD-DVD player... perhaps a bit symbolic? To right of those is the 360 Elite. The Wii, of course, sits out like a sore thumb... damn I hate white electronics... worst color choice ever.

PS3
Xbox 360 + HD-Add-on

I'm in the middle of a move so everything is boxed up. I'll take pics once everything is wall-mounted and what-not.

Have not gotten quite old enough to install the bathroom entertainment/gaming /work system (aka getting old sucks), but did install a master bedroom entertainment/gaming system this spring to suppliment the office work/gaming system and living room entertainment/gaming system.

Before I install anything in the bathroom other than a PC to read the paper online, I think I will wait for the gaming industry to come up with a process to pause the game in the living room, and continue the game in the bathroom, pause again, and then complete the game in the living room. I suppose the DVR industry is attempting to address the local video streaming switching issue, but even they are not really quite there yet.
