Can't remember the order of some earlier boards: Diamond Viper VLB, Cirrus Logic VGA, S3 Trio, Virge, Tridents, probably forgetting some here.

Think this order is correct:

Matrox Millenium + Diamond Monster
Matrox Millenium 2 + Diamond Monster 2
Riva TNT
3dfx Voodoo 1
3dfx Voodoo 2
3dfx Voodoo 3
GeForce Ti-4200
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
BFG 6800GT
XFX 7800GT
ATI Radeon X1900XTX (current)

I remember my first card because of its super cool name:

I had the ATI Rage Fury Pro ...OMFG I thought that was the best card name in the world.
I went on the get Nvid GF TI4200 and then the G4 6600GT then my card overheated and started shutting down my system when running Civ 4.
I then bought ATI's X1800 XT

Geforce TNT2 - Didnt play many games back then

Geforce 2 MX400 - Quickly became laggy for newer games

Geforce 4 MX440 - Wasnt much better but needed a 2nd card for another pc

Geforce FX 5900XT - Great card replaced the crappy Geforce 4 MX could actually use high settings on games, great overclocker, but sucked on Source

Radeon 9700 Pro - Replaced the 5900 to play Source with Direct X 9, was good card but didnt have it too long

Geforce 6800XT - ****** card hoped to unlock pipelines on it didnt do any but worse the card had bad capacitiors and had a reseting problem, never sorted

Geforce 6800 - Ok card, couldnt unlock but gave me a boost in performance

PCIe

Radeon X800GTO2 (X850XT) - Great card, bought to drive my Dell monitor, goes through Source like butter, not a good overclocker on standard volts dont really want to try higher

hmmm.... lets see...

I game rigs:
The original Voodoo,
Voodoo 2,
Voodoo2 SLI mode,
GeForce
GeForce 2,
Geforce 3,
ATI AIW 9800 Pro
BFG 7800 GTX

In workstations:
Sun Elite 3D m6 Series II (heck this thing is still a $228 card and it is 8 years old!)

In servers:
Sun Raptor PGX32

There were a couple pre-Voodoo cards, VGA/VESA but I can't remember them, that was in the 1980's.

ISA
Monochrome card (forget the vendor, it was shaped like a triangle tho)
Trident VGA card

AGP&PCI
ATI Rage3D(? some ATI card, anyway) and Voodoo2
Matrox Millennium & Voodoo2 SLI (had a TV-Out and DVD decoder daughterboard, also the RAM upgrade - the shiznit!)

AGP
nVidia geForce2 GTS
nVidia FX 5200 <--only because the gF2 died and I was building a new system in a couple months.

PCIe
nVidia 6600GT SLI

For whatever reason I completely skipped having a PCI video card.

This post is really messy, its a WIP mostly for my own records

I'll just include the one's I tried overclocking had a trident before, then unworthy mentionnables prior to that:

-S3 Virge DX 4MB, RAM only O'C, virtually no benefit, returned to stock Q2/HL
-Geforce MX overclocked 220/180
-Radeon VE (DoA) replaced by Abit Siluro Geforce MX400 240/220, good card
-Geforce 2 GTS 32MB Something bugged me about this card.. cannot remember what though.
-Sapphire Radeon 8500LE 250/200 stock 275/230 max -_-;; used for quite some time
-Geforce 4 Ti4200 (horrible Ramdacs and ****** sheet metal cooler/noisy fan, exchanged for replacement, same thing tossed 3 months later)
-ATI Radeon 9500 NP 275/275 stock, unlocked pipes/memory to 256bit and 373/334 (died after 9 months, this was during my super heavy gaming spree for 8+hrs a day every day, died from watercooling failure, was a very nice card, got when they were just released for $195CDN)
-Sapphire Radeon 9700np 275/270 stock, max 313/290 (had a reallly long time, just let go of, overclocking disappointment though)
-ATI Radeon x800XL AIW still playing with clocks, had for awhile, not as much need to OC currently..

I think I'm missing 1... oh yes.. forgot

Edit: adding info...

3D Games, will map to cards later if i get around to it:
Carmageddon
HL
Quake 1
Quake 2
Unreal Tournament (skipped Unreal)
Quake 3(kinda, didn't like much, mostly UT for many years)
Battlefield (2 yrs)
Planetside (3 years, sometimes go back)
Oni (don't ask, oddity, really liked it though)
BF:V(2 months)
BF:2(2 months)
UT2K3 (didn't like much, kinda skipped)
HL2(2Months)
UT2K4 (3 months)
World of Warcraft (off and on, hate/love, more hate relationship)

UT, Battlefield, Planetside stole most of my youth, and oddly i don't regret it. Played WoW prolly < 1/2 of any of those 3 games yet I regret it ...
