are you running scsi??? I know I am running an 40gig WD ata100 7200rpm drive on a mobo with ata100 controller. It is partitioned into 2 drives....I imagine the other guys are both running near same setup...

Yours is the highest OI have seen...I have seen many at 800-1000...

nope...i think it might be a bug in the benchmark since i was at the online browser and mine seems to be the highest score
anyway, its only a WD Expert 7200rpm 20GB ATA66 HDD, that's in fact running on a ATA33 channel since my BH6 only supports that, so there's no way in hell it could perform so well...

gee, looks like MadOnion has some serious issues to work out about they're fudged up HDD benchmarks. Until then I won't trust the CPU and memory scores either...

Yeah, they have major issues with this program. I'm running an atlas 10KIII and it's getting only 1070 in the HD bench. I've also seen a few people in there with CPU scores in the 12000 range, and one guy with a Duron that gets misreported as a P4@2400 or so and whipes the floor with everyone else. heheh Major problems.

Important info regarding RAID:
If you're running a RAID, and a single IDE drive (as I am), then PCMark will automatically use the single drive for the benchmark. Unplug the single drive for it to use the RAID. I was wondering why my RAID 0 was only getting a 400.

I have a P4 1.6A @ ~2.5GHz on an Abit TH7II-RAID with 2x 256MB Samsung double-sided RIMMs. My RAID is two Maxtor DiamonMax Plus 60 30GB drives on an old Iwill ATA66 HighPoint RAID controller, single IDE drive mentioned above is a 10GB 5400RPM WD drive.

Normal overclock - 155MHz for CPU, RAM at 3/4 speed.

Synchronous at 133MHz

Interestingly, the slower RAM (first one), gives a better RAM score. I posted about that in the MadOnion forum, no replies yet.

CPU Score 6121<------P4 2.0a@2.5GHz, 125 FSB
Memory Score 6345<-----512 Meg RDRAM@500
HDD Score 617<-------Maxtor 40GB ATA100 7200

The hard drive score is garbage IMO. I have it on the RAID controller, but not in an array of any kind. Just setup as normal IDE device. HDTach has this drive off the charts and Sandra (which sucks for hdd benching) is at 28000.

CPU Score: 3909 -----> AMD TBird 1.4 @ 1.45
Memory Score: 3744 ------> 2x256 OCZ PC2700 DDR RAM
HDD Score: 1319 -------> (3) Maxtor D740X 40gb 7200rpm + (1) Maxtor D740X 60GB 7200rpm
(All in RAID0 w/ 60gb being used as my boot disk. This gives me a total of 149GB's!!!!)

Now these are quite decent score for my setup. Now I want to reitterate whats been said. For han888,
There seems to be something wrong with the software. There shouldn't be any reason, why your HDD
score IS SO HIGH! It seems to be more like an outlier (from a statistics standpoint). I am not trying
to flame you, but all of the HDD scores range from 400-1500. 1500 being some users with SCSI or RAID0
setups. Single HDD drive users range roughly from 400-1000. This seems to be very reasonable mark
that most people are getting.

As I've mentioned earlier there are probably some issues MadOnion has to work out to get consistent, reliable scores. Right now they're not, and with the obvious "wrong" scores on some people(including me), god knows how "right" the other more believable scores are. I'd discourage people from using this benchmark as a performance indicator of any kind, even their CPU or memory benchmarks, until they fix it.
