32 years old with a resting heart rate of 57. I'm working on getting it better as I've found a renewed enthusiasm for bicycling.
Just checked again now 55 is my low.
If you could post your cardio of choice as I'm interested to see what various people are doing to get low numbers.

47bpm/49 years...That's sitting at my desk doing nothing. Used to be better but my body parts are failing me. Had my 1st knee surgery before you were born...:\ Old fart is old.

+1 for the bike. Resting rate would be ~43.

Might want to check again. That is Lance Armstrong level low (elite of the elite athlete).

At home I had a nurse take my reading of 49 bpm and I am an avid runner. I only get 55-60 at the clinics but i am probably more tense than at home.

Mine was 41bpm on waking last time I checked mine (about a month ago). 45bpm at the doctor's office during my visit. I'm 43.

I guess I should note that I run a lot, sometimes really ridiculous distances. I live in the aerobic zone though, I'm no gazelle.

I was looking at charts for resting heart rate. Now I'm not 100% certain the charts are correct.

I am 100% certain my resting heart rate is in the 35-45 range. I take it several times a week (or day sometimes) using different methods. It was around 60 before I started running.

So, either:
Your chart is wrong
I am an elite athlete

I am not an elite athlete.

Donated blood couple weeks ago, resting heart rate was 58 and I'm 27. I usually just shoot hoops few times a week and walk my dog about hour a day up and down hills!

Didn't you realize that everything and everyone on the internet is the best, strongest, fastest and greatest.

Go to any cycling forum. Half the members regularly do "training" rides at a pace that would have them winning the TDF.

I can tell you my resting heart rate is 40 or 35 or 60 doesn't make it true.

Resting heart rate for me is 54-57bpm. I'm 25 years old. My max heart rate is actually only 180-185bpm so don't believe everything you read on the charts for resting or max heart rate.

Yep, he found the trick. EPO and lots of new blood.

A large scotch works for me and protects my knees from the excessive wear that cycling used to inflict.

But how do you find your max heart rate? Maybe you didn't push yourself hard enough?

90-110 usually around 100. Sometimes it'll drop as low as 80. I'm 29.

Edit: Just checked it now (with forearm monitor) My blood pressure is 120/79 with 99 pulse.

Cycling is what does it for me. Definitely not an elite athlete. I struggle with my weight due to eating/drinking too much like most people, but 1,500 - 2,000 miles per year keeps the ticker running smooth.

So I win at heart rate? ^.^ (I know if you only get so many beats in your life I'm probably going to die at 40 at this rate T.T)

Couple hours a week of full court basketball, plus strength and additional cardio training a few more times a week.

Sorry for the delay. Crappy camera phone, crappy pic, unblocking texts, image shack to irritate some but you get the picture.

Your charts aren't right, imo.

Bastard. I'm trying to trademark the process.

mine is around 65-70, i turn 32 in november. i lift reguarly but don't do much cardio, other than football on the weekends in the spring/fall. really wish i could get in the habit of doing some running at the gym but it's just boring. i'm very active in general though but nothing high intensity like running other than football.
