Post your worst Chrismas bonus

Several years I received nothing. Oh, there was this one place that gave me a pen. Oh, boy. I felt oh so special.

Never gotten a Christmas bonus per se, my company gives out bonuses at the end of January.

I guess I shouldn't complain, but my bonus 2 years ago pissed me off thoroughly, even though it was 2.5k. I busted my butt for the entire year, working about 70-80 hours a week and not getting paid any overtime, while the rest of the people in my group WERE paid overtime. I was told that my year end bonus would make up for the overtime that I worked. Let's just say I should have gotten a bonus of at least 15k. So while the rest of my coworkers were making money hand over fist for the entire year, I got shafted.

i understand that you probably did get the shaft, but unless you are on salary, what you just described is illegal and you should have done something about it. i know this because i help with finances and billing at work. if you work overtime and you are hourly, they 110% HAVE TO pay you overtime, none of this make it up at the end of the year bullsh!t. if you are on salary, then thats another story. work as much as you want, and you dont get crap for it. sorry, but thats just how it works.

This year I got my first, and worst (well.... I guess best too) Christmas bonus. I got a certificate for $10 off a turkey or ham at local groceries.

Yah, I'm salaried, so I just got the shaft. It sucked because all the members of my group were paid hourly and were making tons of money.

Reading threads like this makes me feel a lot better. I've always gotten bonuses with my current company (been working here for 4 years since I got out of college) and this year's bonus was double what my bonus last year was (although I think it still should've been 2 or 3 times what I got considering how much money I brought in for them this year - but that's an argument that I'll save for my raise request next quarter.)

In addition to our regular bonuses, the day before we get out for Christmas, the company president always goes around and gives each employee $100 cash as a small thank you gift from him personally. It's a pretty cool company really and they take good care of us for the most part.

1 weeks pay and paid holiday for 26th Dec and 2nd Jan, been working here for a little over 2 years now(software. eng)

last year was no bonus but 19inch flat pannel for everybody(for office use) wierd gift if you ask me but this things are awesome. The year before I hear it was Razor scooter lol.

I didn't get a bonus this year (only have once) but i somehow had like an hour or 2 of leftover holiday pay from teh summer i guess. and I got a cheque for $18.24 (taxed from like $24.. it was pretty silly.

my worst was a year we got a $30 or so 'ticket' to a show or something. (I found out also the company was getting money back for each purchase)...

The problem was they added the $30 or so buck to the paycheck which was taxed...so I got $24 to 'buy' the $30 ticket.

freaking lame, I skipped it and took the $24 in cash....the company later sent an email stating 'they were upset that people did not see the 'gift' and that there would be no bonus next year'

Worst bonus was $0. and a sweatshirt after 10 years working in the maintenance dept. of a textile and garment manufacturing plant. The place has since closed (bankrupty.) That was 5 years ago. This year, I got $200, a very large ham and 4 paid days off. (But you are kind of "asked" not to take the days off.... what's the point?)LOL!

Recieved one from my boss not the company. It was a ceramic christmas mug with candy in it. Only bonus i ever got and it sucked. Would have been happier if we didnt have to show up to the store meeting at 6am for a week instead of that. Oh well, doesnt matter i quite like 2 weeks later anyways cause i just couldnt get up for a 6am meeting every week lol.
