Hi again,

I really shouldn't have brought this here. This isn''t the right place and it just occurred to me that the person is probably still banned from here so it wasn't very fair for him either.

It was just that last week he (again) told me that he has heap of cash coming to him this week and he was definitely going to mail the package this week. Yesterday he (again) told me that something has come up (rent) and he can't mail this week either. I got kinda buffer overflow from that and unfortunately came here next :-(.

Thanks for the kind offers to help with equipment, but I don't have spare cash to buy new stuff just now(Albeit two P3-750's would be nice ).

And for the note of person being extremely busy - yeah I guess it's possible but then again he has time to sit hours on irc but not to walk to the ups office?

But, like I said, this isn't good place for this and won't go anywhere, it wasn't my intent to start full scale witch hunt .

Postman, a witch hunt would imply that there isn't anyone guilty. Obviously, that isn't the case, as this person definately ripped you off. Don't feel bad about mentioning this, but feel happy; if we get this person off the team, it's one less lowlife we have to work with.

okay, I will catch up with ViRGE here shortly he has been out for the day and hasnt been able to get the latest intel. we know who it is, we are going to try and talk with them about it, see if we cant get postman his goods. if not, they have left enough of a trail for us to fallow to make it quite easy to figure out where they are, and go by the troll hunters guide to troll snuffing. right now we are giving said person benifit of the dought, although this is their last straw. thanks for all the support gang and we will try and keep you informed best we can without totally trashing the persons rep unless needbe.

I hope this is all resolved satisfactorily. There are alot of us "lurker-buyers" who are often nervous about going to FS/T, let alone fleabay, and tend towards buying from people we know here in DC.

Good luck guys with getting things straightened out.

I agree Poof. Postman I hope that you can see how hard the Community members of TA are trying to resolve what happened to you. I know extremely well from personal experience and first hand the incredible upstanding character the people in the TA Community have. It is a true extended family online. Don't be sad or fell bad, you did the right thing by telling and talking to your fellow family members.

Take care

Why should Postman still want the items from him 4 months ago? 4 months is a long time for computer parts to depreciate. Postman should ask for a full refund plus interest if not more.

I believe Postman HAS tried his best (many times) to contact this guy and give him time to pay up. I also don't believe we need a bunch of people playing troll hunter going after the guy in secret, threatening him and leaving the rest of us to feel uninformed and second class.

If Postman has tried for months to resolve this and comes to the point of coming here to warn us, then he should either post the name and we can all deal with him (avoid+), or not have posted at all.

Assuming the length of time is correct, 4 months is WAY TOO LONG to be nice and try to resolve this. The person has had more than plenty of time to ship the items, and should provide a full refund at this point.

I think we should all know the name of this person just so no one else gets burned. His/her name should also be posted over at FS/FT too.

Rumor has it, from the parties friends and the party themselves that the package has been shipped and should arrive in about 4 days. we will see... I would like to note the member in question is a banned member of the anandtech forums, an no longer a member of Team AnandTech.

Narzy, I for one do not expect anything being shipped by this Con!!! :|

If he was banned, was it possibly because of the same thing?? If so, DON'T hold your breath!!

Let's hope He finally got a bit of sense, to live up to his agreement! If not charges should be laid!!!!!

And if nothing arrives Postman's way in the next 4-5 days, I'll send him whatever he wants, FREE. As I had told Smokeball that I think
" He probably sent all the cash he was able to save, seeing that he says it was prohibitive for him to buy them there. "

Let's just say , I better not know his name (the f^&$%ing con) and even worst, meet him in person........

Postman, let me know if you get your order or not.!

I hope things work out, Postman.

I've done many deals with people here at AT, and believe me, this situation is very much an exeption and not the rule. 99.9% of the great traders on this board would bend over backwards to make sure stuff like this doesn't happen.

Paf077, and to many others.

Before you guys go about trying to burn someone to the stake, please understand that we are all human and mistakes happen. Even though this was a sad event, by playing it smart, and not doing the witch hunt, we might have a nice solution to the problem. I know the person who did this, and it really doesn't seem like them to try to steel from a fellow member. I also know how busy they have been and that when your in college, things get stacked up quite quickly. All that I ask that we learn from is to not go around ruining peoples rep, or bad mouthing them, without trying a peaceful solution. We all have forgotten things, and we have been busy at one point or another.

Not trying to justify what he did, but to make sure we as a team, learn from this mistake, forgive the person for this, and let life go on. I don't think this guy will be offering any more help in shipping items, so I would say it's pretty safe to leave it at this.

Today Fedex boy brought me a packet from the seller, I typing this via a system assembled from parts in that package

Everything we agreed was included, and works as promised. From my part, I'm happy that this is finally over. Huge thanks for persons who helped me with this!

Now after the anger from the initial post has receded, I tend to agree with LD in that the seller probably wasn't intentionally trying to rip me off, however I'm sure that without some 'encouraging' from certain TA members the shipment wouldn't have arrived so quickly after this thread was started.

My plea is only to the persons who know the sellers identity; I don't think it's necessary to reveal it. He might not have acted flawlessly in this deal, but in the end he sent the stuff without ultimatums and bad attitude as expensive FedEx international shipment. The cost of that should be enough for him, no need for everyone/anyone go poking him about this!

I'm glad everything worked out for Postman , and there is much truth in what Lord Demios/TMR said. Nontheless, I would not willingly deal with that person because I don't care how "busy" he is or how things got stacked up in college (wait till he tries the real world if he thinks college is tough!) - 4 months is way too long. Send the stuff, or get a second job and refund the money, "busy" and "college life" don't cut it, period. To some, a person's reputation for integrity and honesty is a defining characteristic, and I have little use for those that don't seem to care about this quality in themselves.

However, as the person is no longer a member of the forums there is no risk I or anyone else will get burned so revealing the name would not further any real cause other than satusfying prurient interest.

if something like this happens again in the future i suggest that only ONE person be involved in helping the "ripped off" party. I think too many people want to feel involved at the lowest level and once the "ripper off-er" gets just one email, or whatever, he/she will get the point, no need for a dozen threatening emails.
