Because that's how I differentiate between drugs.

You do realize now why we all say you're illogical and an emotional idiot even though you think otherwise right? You have emotional responses to things, not logical ones. Pathetic.

If you get intoxicated from consumption(in any form inhaling, ingestion, injection etc) of any substance, you are abusing "drugs" and are a "druggie." This goes for food, hell this goes for running. If running intoxicates you and you run to seek intoxication you are a drug abuser. You're abusing the drugs your body naturally produces to seek your high. everyone is seeking some way to get high, arbitrarily setting limits on what is ok and what isn't is stupid and illogical. just more authoritarian bullshit from people to afraid of life.

Because I'm fine with cannabis being illegal, it means nothing to me, it doesn't benefit society (except in rare cases where it's prescribed anyway) and I see no value in it, it has negative side affects, which would hit more people if it were legal, so I'm fine with leaving it where it is.
Substitute the word "alcohol" for "cannabis", and the flaw in your thinking should become obvious to you.

WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU ON BRO? SOMETIMES I AGREE WITH YOU BUT YOUR LAST FEW POSTS ABOUT MUMS AND DRUGGIES HAS BEEN PRETTY INCOMPREHENSIBLE.

Caffeine is more dangerous than pot. (substance for substance, not intake style).

Regardless of illegality, someone who smokes pot for fun every few days is no where near the kind of druggy someone who depends on coffee every morning. The coffee drinker is actually addicted and dependent on the drug. The person using pot recreationally isn't even a drug addict. They are just doing it for fun.

I'm going to start a new thread called "coffee drinking caffiene junkies".

I do realise that people have caffeine addictions, but the side affects are hardly comparable.

You are insane, how would it make it easier? I know at least 5 people i could call right now(would be a much higher number if it wasnt 7am) and have a bag delivered in under 30 min, to my door or wherever i happen to be. If it was legal i would have to go to a store, possibly government regulated like liquor and show ID to purchase, and they probably wouldn't even be open yet.

That and it would be alot safer because the product would be pure and not laced, not that many reputable dealers lace pot anyways but legalizing it would make it alot safer.

Well that's concerning.

So wait, you're a 'recovering alcoholic' and can sit here and say this? You're such a fucking troll. The problem you struggle with kills people, every day. Kills innocent people who aren't even drinking(ie drunk driving wrecks). You should really invest in a glass stomach.

Then again, arguing with you is like arguing with a retarded religious nutjob.

Obligatory eat a dick statement. Err, wait...:hmm:

I agree, the difference is that alcohol is already legal, making it illegal would be an impossible nightmare. If alcohol was illegal I would be saying "why make it legal?" cannabis is illegal, leave it that way.

I see the comparison, I saw it as I was typing, but as I said in my last post alcohol is already legal, making it illegal now that it is so heavily engrained into our society would be nearly impossible, cannabis is illegal and is no where near as popular as alcohol, why make it legal and exacerbate the problem.

I don't think the bar for "properly" is set at "perfectly"

Neither do I, I was demonstrating the flaw in an argument.

You should really read into prohibition. Why not at least make a half ass attempt at knowing what the fuck you're talking about? Alcohol should be illegal. I tell you what, you keep your alcohol. If a person that takes care of his shit on a day to day basis like any other normal Joe Blow but likes to dip in reefer in the off hours is such a bad thing then I can only assume what a drunk like yourself looks like in your eyes.

I'd rather be labeled a 'pot-smoking hippy' than a drunk. Please, by all means drink enough alcohol to kill yourself. I assure you it wouldn't even crack the shell that contain my emotions. Go find how many people have died from marijuana OD. Be my fucking guest.

Because marijuana isn't nearly as harmful as alcohol, even when it's smoked, and people looking for a legal buzz would probably rather smoke pot than drink if they had the choice.

The pro-marijuana movement is rolling full steam ahead.
I bet medical marijuana is legal in all 50 states by 2020.
They have already decriminalized possession in many placed.

All 50? Possibly. I'm sure the proposition 21 sure would've helped speed thing along.

Stopped reading here, try to post calmly without resorting to childish insults.

first of all... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prohibition_in_the_United_States

marijuana was not always illegal and the reasons it became illegal were racial.

Yeah I know both of those things.

Because marijuana isn't nearly as harmful as alcohol, even when it's smoked, and people looking for a legal buzz would probably rather smoke pot than drink if they had the choice.

That's a reasonable argument and if it was one becomes illegal and the other is legal then I'd probably be arguing for cannabis, but it's not, it's 1 or both, so I say 1.

I know. They are worse. You get headaches, it's physically addictive, and much easier to OD on.

I can't confirm either way, I don't have enough experience with either nor have I read any supporting research into caffeine vs cannabis, all I know is that cannabis can seriously deteriorate someones mental health and that is enough for me.

Even with out the childish insults, he made a point. You are completely disregarding the harms of prohibition. It costs society much more to keep things illegal, and creates much more harm and violence because of the black market. You are worried about the harms of people doing drugs, of which most people already are (if they choose to) which is pale in comparison to the harms of prohibition. They just did a study that shows in the past 5 years in Mexico, 47,000 people have died due to the drug war. How many people died from using pot? Or cocaine? Or Heroin?

Again, you really don't know what you are talking about and this is why 'sensible drug policy' is being pushed by many advocates.

It's called the 'harm reduction' approach. If you were truly concerned about reducing overall harm to society, you'd actually research it instead of sitting there with your arms folded getting huffy and puffy because everyone thinks you are an idiot.

Actually, moderate use of cannabis won't seriously deteriorate the mental health of anybody. That's a myth. It's relatively harmless, and you're pushing your false ideas onto the liberties of others. Care to start posting studies that determine that it does cause mental health in everyone that uses it?

No chance. We're all gonna die this year, remember?

How did this thread make 3 pages anyways.
