I guess this is going to be a HOT deal for one lucky person only. One in 350,000 chance of winning 4-star luxury hotel in Scotland. If 350,000 people don't sign up, the deal's off. Entries are capped at 350,000, and you can buy as many chances as you like.

Linky here

Hmmm... I wonder why more people don't sell their homes this way? You could get 40,000 people to pay $5 for a chance to win your house, couldn't you?

Good luck!

Heck of a lot better odds than the lottery...

How about a great big YMMV in the topic title?

do you people have any idea how much money it takes to maintain a hotel? much less pay for taxes and electricity and crap each month? if you win this, you would go broke.

oh yeah, sweepstakes are not allowed here.

Hmmm, no profile, only 3 other posts outside this thread. Wearing a kilt severtki?

This might violate the "no gambling" part of the Hot Deals rules, but even if not: most of these house raffles are cancelled when not enough people sign up, and refunds are often not prompt.

Sorry -- I'm Norwegian, not Scottish...

I'm just new and been a lurker. Didn't know about the no sweepstakes rule -- sorry! Seems like more of a lottery than a sweepstakes, but point taken.

Also, the site claims credit cards are not charged until the drawing date anyway and are never charged if not enough people sign up.

(If I win, I'll just turn around and sell it for a profit... Might visit it once).

Gambling on anything is defenetely not a hot deal, 1 in 350,000 is fairly weak for a mediocre prize with entry costing $11, winning a California lottery is 1 in 18,000,000 with entry costs of $1 and prizes 10 times bigger.

I'm from Scotland and where the hotel is located (Oban) is a nice part of the west coast. I don't know what the hotel is like, but if it's 4 stars it's gotta be good.

I think a few people have tried this before and it failed miserably. Not enough people buying tickets.
