<< as long as it an orange clam shell, has no floppy drive, can't be upgraded, is overpriced and comes with 2 operating systems to circumvent the software incompatibilities...i'm in. >>
Heheh, you don't know what you're missing bud.
No orange clamshell. Cool white with a translucent shell. (Yeah, I hated that orange thing too.)
Can't be easily upgraded. Well of course, it's laptop. I have added a wireless card and an extra 512 MB RAM though, as well as some Firewire peripherals. (See sig.)
2 operating systems? Yeah, one with the stability of Unix (because it is Unix) and the ease of use better than XP. The other one (OS 9) is suck though.
No floppy drive. Yeah, and I'm glad - I basically never use floppies on my desktops (Win XP, 2000, NT) and laptop (iBook). I do have an external USB powered zip drive though, that I share with various computers. (I use an IDE zip drive with the NT box though.)
Overpriced? You tell me: Firewire (powered, which is almost impossible to find on PC laptops). AV out USB, VGA, 56K modem, 10/100 Ethernet all built-in. As I said, my laptop has the optional 802.11b, internal (which is again very difficult to find in a PC laptop). Mine has a DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive. Stereo speakers. Best of all, it's under 5 lbs with everything above. I looked hard, and I found zero PC laptops with the same specs, even for $2000. If you can get all of the above for $1009, that's a smokin' deal, even without the wireless card and extra memory. (Normal price is 50% more, at $1499.)
