Circuit City to close all stores by 3/31

I got Guitar Hero II plus a spare guitar for Xbox 360 last month for like $16, no rebates. Yay CC!

I'm not going to miss them...I feel bad for all those employees being laid off, but every time I went into my local Circuit City, there were always like 20 employees standing around doing nothing, not helping anyone - just talking to each other in small groups. I don't know if it was like that everywhere, but the work culture at my local CC store was pretty bad. I can't say I'm surprised to see them go...

I wonder what this does to pending Circuit City rebates I have from Black Friday sales. I submitted them quickly and they were to be paid by February 10, 2009.

Same truth for other CC stores I've been into.
It's called employee bad morale knowing their job is numbered which is fully understandable.

If you have been to a liqidation sale before you know that the deals are far from plenty. Liqidators have ownership of the items for sale..and they do not go to a good price until the very end. Which ususally means it's all the crap no one wants anyways.

I was at Circuit City yesterday, in search of Sennheiser RS 130 headphones since I know CC has carried the Sennheiser brand before - I went in there, no one greeted me. The guy at the front, made eye contact then turned back to the TV he was watching.

Someone eventually asked me if I needed help so I told him what I was looking for, in the middle of me talking - his friend (not even an employee) interrupted me and told him she'll talk to him after he's done helping me. GOOD JOB.

It was a ghost town in there. I should have asked when the liquidation sale is lol
