Heya'll,
I am running an enermax 550 watt ppu now (came with z-alien case) and it was sufficient for my old set up but i'm not sure about now. I now have a Asus M2N32-Sli wifi edition, an amd64 x2 4000+, 2 gigs of ddr 800, 4 sata hd, 2 7800gt's in sli, 2 dvd writers, and a soundblaster. I'm getting blue screens relating to memory management now and just wanted to make sure it's not a simple fix like the psu.
Thanks for the help

Run Memtest. Bump your memory voltage a bit to make it run without errors if you must.

You'd still have to do this even if you got a new power supply.

Thanks for the reply,
I ran memtest and no problems were found. I was only able to find one memtest that worked though, i'm using vista 64-bit ultimate. Also, i ran one of those psu calculators and it was saying i needed 620 watts. I haven't had any blue screens since the last post, it only happens when i opened up EQ2.

To check, easiest thing to do is to monitor your +12V and +5V rails using Everest or a similar program while running a resource-heavy app like a game (BattleField 2 is a good one). If any of them dips below 10% of the total rail voltage or is unstable then you probably need a new PSU.

your psu should be fine for that load. psu calculators often list max load of all components, ie all your hdd, opticals, fans add-on cards, cpu and vga running full load. on top of that, they have the CYA approach- suggest more watts than the person could possibly use. so psu calculators can be a useful as software voltage readings- useless.

at any rate, enermax make nice suppplies and are honest about their ratings. additionaly, your symptoms are indicative of software, not hardware issues.

i've had odd problems with games and vista 32 and to a lesser extent (perhaps cuz i just installed it) vista 64. fi, COD2 refused to start one time, the program just wouldn't open after about two weeks of it being fine. i had to re-install that (6 damn discs).

oblivion randomly loses ai players voices during convversation; i can hear people speak, but if i confront them to ask them, i can't hear responses). that requires me to re-install my realtek drivers. i haven't figured out wat is causing it but i'm trying

if its only with EQ2, you could try driver updates to start...

Thanks for tips, i was looking for a voltage monitoring program that can produce logs, but i'm unable to find one. Is there one? If i am in a full screen game and i need to switch to the monitoring program, like "pc probe," to check the voltages i'm afraid that when i do i won't be getting accurate readings. I'll keep looking.

get yourself a $15-20 dmm at radioshack pr something. software voltage reading are notoriously inaccurate. you can leave it plugged into a spare molex while gaming or whatever.
