Power Supply for P4

Would a 250 watt power supply be ok for a P4 system?

If not, then what's the required specs for a power supply for a P4 based system?

Depends on the qualit of the powersupply.

Manufactures such as enermax, antec, thermaltek, etc are good ones to use. You might want to read up on Anandtech's article on powersupplies. you don' t have to spend an arm on leg to get powersupply these days.


I would myself would go with good quality 350 watt powersupply. You never know when you might add another hard drive, a more powerful video card or more powerful case fans.

A quality 250 would probably cut it, but if it were me I'd get a bigger one.

I have a Sparkle 300w that I got from newegg.com for $27 (+ 5 for s/h). It's very quiet and seems to runmy P4 just fine so far.
