Power supply not beefy enough?

Hi all,

My new build components are coming in from Newegg.com today. I'm planning on putting the following into an Antec Sonata case:

AMD64 3400+
Albatron K8X800 ProII Motherboard
1gb Mushkin PC3500 Level I
2x36.7 GB Raptors in RAID-0
DVD Combo writer
Radeon 9800 Pro

Now what concerns me is the 380w Antec TruePower supply that came with the case. I didn't think much of it until I read the following in AT's 3400+ review part 2:

None of the reviews that we have seen have really said much about the power requirements of the 3400+. Our standard test setup uses a 350-watt PowMax power supply because it is typical of a good quality power supply from a typical components or "white-box" dealer. The 3400+ would not run with complete stability on this 350-watt PS. We ended up moving to a 430-watt Antec True Power, which was one of the top performers in our Power Supply roundup, to get stable performance with the 3400+. The 3400+, in our experience, requires a good PS rated at least an honest 400 watts.

Is anyone else running a similar setup on the stock Sonata 380w PS? Will the discrete transformers on the 3/5v rails make up for having < 400w?

Any thoughts would be appreciated

I suspect powmax might be good for a "white-box" dealer level of PSU, theyre probably not quite as good as Antec's, which generally are about as good as they get for enthusiast desktop's.

380w antec TP should be ample. If you do decide against it you could look for a Antec SLK3700BQE without a PSU and get a TP 430w, but I'd be rather susprised if the 380w isnt fine.
