Power Supply Problems

Hi,
I just installed a new power supply. And I forgot to switch it to 115v, so I was continously trying to start it at 235V. And I just tried the test method by shorting the green and black wire. It briefly turns on then the power supply turns of 5s later. Did I mess up my power supply?

That's wierd! All electrical equipment sold in this country should be defaulted to 115 VAC. The change would be to 235/220. You probably didn't damage it. There's only one way to find out - try it.

Yeah. I tried it. Doesn't turn on. Anything I can do?

Explain that to me please, in an electrical circuit the black wire is 120vac and the green is ground and the white is 120vac neutral. You should have got a big bang out of that

Unless, your referring to another type of black and green wire which had nothing to do with the standard 120vac power and it then is used just for testing a power supply.

I did exactly that. Could my power supply be defective?
