I am going to upgrade my computer when RD600 comes and for now I just wanted to know if my current PSU can handle the load.

I am using Silverstone 400W PSU

This is what I am going to have

Antec P180
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (hoping to get it @ 4ghz?)
ATI RD600
2x Seagate 7200.10 320GB drives
Benq 1640 DVD-RW drive
XFX Geforce 7600GT XXX Edition
Creative Audigy 2 ZS
2x 1gb GB PC5300/667 DDR2 Corsair memory

If the current setup can be run without any problems with a 400w PSU, will I have to change my PSU when I'll upgrade to Ati's R600?

Lastly, is there a site with an up to date power supply wattage calculator around? The only ones that I found are outdated..

Thanks in advance

What are the specs on that silverstone, 12v amps? I see one on newegg with only 14a 12v and one on another site with 18a 12v.

If its 18a I'd say your ok for now but if you're upgrading when r600 comes out I'd say, based on rumored power usage, that you'd definitely need a new PSU. Rumor has it that R600/G80 will pull 300w all by their lonesome. There are 300W psu's that fit into your 5-/14 bays made specifically to power those beasts

BTW, heres an updated psu calculator.

Thanks, both of you, for the calculator. I found out that mine is

SILVERSTONE SST-ST400 so it seems that it supports +12v@18A according to this:

I guess I am fine then?

For such minimal hardware, I'd say that 400w would easily (easily!) be plenty to handle that (and quite a bit more).

Hello guys. I have a very good question to ask you. I am thinking of upgrading my video card to Nvidia GeForce 7900 GT 512MB, but I need to know if my PSU is enough. Here are the following specs:

Dell XPS 410
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 Allendale
PSU: 375W with +12V....Don't know the name of PSU
2x Western Digital SATA 320 GB drives
Nvidia GeForce 7900 GS 256MB
SONY DVD-ROM Drive
TSSTcorp DVD+-RW
Creative X-Fi sound card

Is this enough to support the Nvidia 7900 GT 512 MB? I have been reading that it requires minimum of 400W with +12V, but I am not sure if this will support it. Any suggestions? I am a gamer here, but not hard core. Just a casual gamer. Thanks!
