Power Supply Woes

When I try to O/C my P4 and run Sandra Burn In, my motherboard gives me continous beeps which I understand is due to power problems. This is with a Enermax 460 watt PSU. Should I be good to go with an Antec 550 (which one?), or should bite the bullet and get a PC P&C (I would hate to spend the extra $100). Any other recomendations?

The Antec 550W is not better then the Enermax 460W.

I do not think the PSU is the problem, expect if it damage.
Enermax is one of the best PSU makers in the world.
But if it is damange the Tagan 480W would be a exelent choise, not as powerful as the Enermax, but has enogh power and are quite too.

This does not at all sound like a power supply problem...this sounds more like a problem centered around the effects of the O/C'ing going on...there are numerous issues you have to take to thought...the most prevelent issues surround the effects on the Processor and Memory...I would start looking at issues such as possibley needing to jacking the Voltage up a little (in very small increments) on the Processor and the memory..also if you are overclocking the bus...how is this effecting your memories performance? Im in agreement iwht Aslund...I seriously doubt you have a problem with the PS...Enermax 460 PS should be more than adequate...I use a Antec True Power 430 and it is a very good product...I can't believe for a moment that your system "needs" a 550W PS.

I am pretty sure that it is the PSU, as I can replicate the problem with different combinations of processors and videocards without overclocking, the combination which requires the most power (Prescott & 9800P) also will force the continous beeps, which does not happen with the Prescott and a 9600XT ot the 9800P and a 3.0C.

The Enermax was purchased as a Newwegg refurb about a month ago, so it is suspect in my mind.
