Power to light LED

I bought the wrong size LED to change my case lights. The LED I got is about twice the size of the one I need. Will my mother board put out enough power to light it? I have a GB GA-7vrxp motherboard?

I also have a cheap neon light that came with my new case. I have lighted switch laying around how would I wire the switch in to the power lines. I want to be able to turn the light on/off with out opening up the case.

odds are the mobo will probably lightup the led...why don't you try it?

as for your 2nd question, what type of plug do you have?...and that would require some cutting if you want to be able to place the switch outside your case

My switch is just a lighted rocker switch with 3 prongs. I'm guessing hot, ground and light hot. The cheapo Neon has a 4 pin using only 2 pins hot and ground. I'm thinking run the hot to switch pin 1, then out to light hot from switch pin 2. When the switch is open light should be off, close the switch power should run to light
