Folks, don't forget that after you pay 35% for the Fed, you will have to pay your local and state income tax (maximum rate) on top of that 35%. Unless you live in 5 states with no income taxes and the two states that don't tax lottery winnings (CA and PA).

No state income tax in Texas either...sales tax only on some items...not sure about lottery winnings though

Edit: Texas does not tax lottery winnings:awe:...however according to this article the state where the ticket is PURCHASED is where it will be taxed, not the state of residence of the winner(s)
