The $30 scratch offs are where it's at! Buy a full roll for $3,000 and watch the money flow into your bank account!

I got 3 numbers

That's 2 more than I got. Ah, well, there's Saturday's drawing and a now $700 million ($428.4 lump sum) payout. I'm ready to flush another $2 down the drain.

We really need to win this.

Purely hypothetically speaking (of course), if a group buy were to happen we'd need a minimum buy-in of $40 and at least 100+ to have a shot at winning.

Math experts when is it a "fair" bet? I know the current odds are about 1 in 300 million of winning, which makes a 575 million jackpot almost a fair bet ($2 ticket buy 300 million=win) however its complicated by the prospect of multiple winners. At what sum does the risk equal reward? I know this get more complicated by numbers people current tend to choose may have more winners than less popular number combinations but what is the total jackpot needed to assume multiple winners but its still a fair bet?

Its never a fair bet, its just someone has to win. So its shitty and unfair, yet equal for all.

I won $7 off of those 3 numbers. I'll add in another $3 and buy another 5 tickets

When you consider that there can always be multiple winners on any given drawing, it's impossible to have a true "fair bet".

Now we need a powerball insider to setup a scam. This amount of money exceeds any price tag one's ethics may have set. I am virtually certain there is enough money in play to get the necessary powerball employee(s) to play ball. Rigging that stupid machine to spit out desired numbers shouldn't be hard and that could be done by one insider. We would need another to scan the submitted combinations so we know which (unique?) combination to pick.

the amount exceeded my ethics 2 zeros ago.

it exceeded the risk/reward jail time 1 zero ago.

if it reaches 9zeros, it'll exceed my risk/reward for the electric chair

Might be alone on this but I think it's dumb that it gets so high. I'd much rather see hundreds of people win smaller amounts than one person take home 600 million. While they may do some good with that money, seeing hundreds of people have their lives changed would be better IMO.

Me too, I would love to see 500 people get 1 million, vs 1 person get 500 mill.

I agree however you'd never see the jackpot get so high so it would almost never happen. Honestly if any normal person wins money like this they are going to give away a bunch to friends & family simply because you need someone to hang out with once you stop working. I know I'd pay down my friends houses, pay for my Nieces & Nephews schooling probably buy them a condo when they get their first grown up job. I'd pay down the mortgage of the woman at Church who is in trouble but not desperate, I'd probably even start some kind of business that isn't really designed to make money but more or less break even and help people out. I'd definitely employ some of my friends.

Newsflash - the jackpot is now $700 million USD. Largest ever jackpot in US history IIRC.

I think it will grow bigger by Saturday and what if no one wins? $1 billion USD? Whoohooo.
