Powerline Networking Confusion

We are adding one computer to our network, and we decided to go powerline. Will I need to buy 2 of these, for example? Or just 1?

You need two, one to connect to your existing network and one to connect to your computer.

So it'd be:

cable/dsl router --> Powerline Bridge --------------powerline------------------Powerline Bridge --> computer

?

So why doesn't the box come with 2? Isn't kind of redundant to buy 2 boxes, each w/ a setup CD, manual, etc?

You might not need two. Suppose you already had 2, and you wanted to add a third computer. Or, suppose you had a powerline router -- then you would just need one bridge to add another machine. It has no way of knowing how many others of these you have bought, so you get a manual, cd, etc. each time.
