POWERTOYS ARE BACK UP!!!

You didn't have to wait 2 months for em. I downloaded mine through the German Cnet site. You gotta love the Germans. Also, the coolest feature of Powertoys is the multiple desktop feature. After you install Powertoys, just right click on the taskbar, and go under Toolbars, and choose Desktop Manager. This will place 5 circular buttons on your taskbar, which correspond to the 4 different desktop views, and one preview view. If you have more then 256 Rdram or DDr, it's worth it.

just installed the TweakUI. nice features, but when I went to apply my changes, I got an hour-glass. and TweakUI stopped responding. so the changes never too place. I had to cancel the program. Oh well, and other great MS product.

The alt-tab replacement was really slow for me with the old unofficial version, but it's much faster now.

multidesk 2001 (linky to download.com) is another similar tool that i'd reccommend trying.

i've used both, and multidesk 2001 is hands-down easier and faster, in my opinion.

The calc is great, especially if yoru used to the interface on TI calculators. I have the origional version of the alt - tab "thingy" and it works instantly for me too. These are great, I'm glad they are back.

with the older powertoys, hated the newer alt-tab thing. but a visit to tweakxp, i found out how to disable it

well, now with the new powertoys, guess saves us the trouble of trying to disable it since we can just install the package we want

That's funny, TweakUI is on my Win98 CD. You just need to install it. Maybe you meant that it should be loaded automatically? Try to remember the sheep that Windows is designed for. By default the "hide extensions for known file types" and "do not show hidden files" options are turned on, and you get a warning when trying to access the Windows directory. By keeping TweakUI as a seperate program it's like administering an IQ Test: If you are smart enough to download and install this application, then you must be savvy enough to be able to use it.
