PQI...Rosewill - RAM

Kinda limited to what RAM i can get, running asus a7n8x-x with amd 2500
so the limit is pc 2700-333.

Well, you can use PC3200 RAM, you'll just have to underclock it..

I've use Rosewill RAM before. It's perfectly good value RAM

I have some PQI turbo PC4000 which has worked great for me, as well as some PQI DDR2 533 and 667.

I have 4GB of pqi POWER Series memory in my Athlon64 PC. Very nice memory and comes with Samsung chips...

Techno, how do you know they use Samsung chipsets?

Also, i was comparing them to Rosewill's RAM and remembered reading somewhere (maybe here) not to trust RAM that doesn't have a Cas latency spec showing.
PQI shows 2.5, Rosewill nothing...is there a reason not to trust them?

Because on each chip it says : SAMSUNG

at work so i can't tell you the exactly modle of each chip though...

I would assume the Rosewill has 3. The cheapest on Newegg is G.SKILL 2x1GB PC3200. Get that instead.

Talked to their reps, their entry level stuff is not with Samsung chipsets.
Regardless, I went with gigaRAM realized i couldn't use the 400mHz on my mobo with the AMD 2500 which is set to 33mHz.

i have a 1gb stick of rosewill in my pc right now. been running for several months and no problems.

You could have used PC3200 RAM. It would just run at 333mhz instead. PC3200 is generally cheaper than PC2700 though.

Or you could have used PC3200 and just uped the FSB to 400mhz and been happy.
