Wow...2 x 1GB DDR2-800 is now like $200 less than it was this time last year. I have never seen a price crash as fast as memory has this year. :shocked:

I can only imagine that they are retooling for 2 x 2GB and bigger configurations because there's no way you can make money at $20 - $25 per GB!

Good thing this is OOS, otherwise I would have jumped on it... I now have total of 4 GB of unused DDR2 memory lying around (2GB more for a total of 6GB are coming next week).

but ddr2-800 5-5-5 @ 2.0 volts is basically just ddr2-667.

ddr2-800 5-5-5 should be 1.8 v to be real ddr2-800

What he means is, pretty much all DDR2-667 memory will do -800 speeds @ 5-5-5-15 with 2.0V. Basically you're not getting anything better here than you would if you bought some standard DDR2-667 modules that ran @ 667 5-5-5-15 1.8V

Anyway, deal is dead now. Still OOS and now the price is $85.

Nope. However, I am going to upgrade once Intel releases 45nm chips and bearlake chipset and plan on using 4GB of memory. I figured DDR3 will be too expensive once it comes out, so I decided to stock with quality DDR2 memory now while prices are low... :roll:

what i meant is that the jedec standard for ddr2 is 1.8v.

jedec says ddr2-800 to be official needs to run 800mhz at 1.8v at cl5


for 667 its cl5, 533 cl4 etc .

since this needs more than 1.8 its basically just o/c 667. almost any 667 ram can run 800 with 2.0 volts. if you got a real ddr2-800 1.8v chip it probably would run 900 or 950 at 2.0 volts from what i've seen.
