Pray for this little girl

My girlfriend's 5-year-old sister was diagnosed with leukemia yesterday. Still not sure what type, how severe, how far along it is, etc. Keep her in your prayers, guys! She needs help.

Amazing that a cancer like this can develop in someone so young. I just don't get how things like that work.

hopefully she will get better. a former classmate of mine had leukemia at age 8 and got a bone marrow transplant a few years later. she is now 24 and is doing well.

I've heard that acute leukemia grows faster but is less serious, whereas chronic leukemia grows slower but is more serious and possibly fatal. So (I guess) we're hoping that she has acute, and that it is new enough that it can be treated easily. Last night and today she received many blood tests and the bone marrow test. Apparently that one was a doozy because, well, sticking a long needle into the hip bone of a 5-year-old isn't easy, but I guess happy juice helped with that one. Haven't gotten any results on the tests yet, will post when they come in.
