Considering the bat is "one of the 10 new melee weapons included in the game" it doesn't sound like much of a bonus. Anyway, I'll wait a couple months for the 50% off deal.

I've done the pre-order thing before (L4D, Orange Box, and Far Cry 2), but this time I don't care about having it pre-loaded. Plenty of other games to play for now. 20% off was too much of a deal to pass up for me.

L4D was full price for how long before it went to $40? And just recently it went to $30, ($15 with the deal), but I didn't want to wait forever for a half off deal or for L4D2 to hit $40.

Not sure when it dropped to $40 but I just bought it. Almost 11 months after it came out, $11.25 (split a 4 pack). I would rather wait for a hot deal on a game then buy at launch.

maybe as fun (don't really know these days with the online portion of it), you can read reviews before you buy it, time to fix bugs and cheaper. Most I ever paid for a game was $30 (COD:MW)

That might be okay for the single player experience, but for multiplayer you'll be setting yourself up for a lot of grief getting pwned by people who have already played it for months.

The other thing is that games are usually discounted at launch then go back up to regular pricing for a while, so buying at launch is not necessarily paying full price.

Buying L4D right now is a complete waste of money. The game was barely worked on in the past 10 months so you arent getting any better support now that l4d2 is almost out.

That $11.25 would have been better spent on l4d2- $34-$11.25 is a wiser investment.

I feel that both should be included in this price. this is nothing more than an addon pack and should be $19.99

not knocking them for trying but this is the same as the new prices I am seeing for the new COD

$20? Really? For 4 new campaigns, new infected, a crapload of new weapons, an updated AI Director that changes the level design to make each trip through different than the last, weather and time of day effects, and that only the stuff we know about at this point?

Personally not sure why people are so hard on Valve about this, they seem to have added a lot more to this game than you normally do in a sequel using the same engine. If I had any complaint, it would be that Source is starting to show its age, but when you pump it up to 1920x1200 maxed, it still looks damned good 95% of the time.

I dunno, $35 seems like a steal for me personally. I put well over 200 hours into L4D and still play the heck out of it. I got my $45 out of that game, and I'll get my $35 out of this one.
