Okay... about 2 or 3 years ago I took one of my female friends to her prom, she was just a friend and she asked me to go with her. Not a terribly bad looking date I might add, but she really wasn't my type, just a good friend, for now we'll call her Jesse. So anyways... So anyways... a couple of days ago I went over to my best friends house and his little sister who is now a junior in high school has become one of my better friends. Well... she brought a few of her friends over because we all were going to watch a movie. One of the girls that was there I thought was rather attractive... although I had seen her before, so I asked what her name was. Turns out that this attractive girl is Jesse's little sister... who happens to also be a junior in high school, she would have been a freshmen when I was a senior... apparently over the past couple of years she's blossomed into this attractive figure, who we'll call Liz.
Anyways, knowing how high school works, I had my friends do the grapevine thing, to see if Liz liked me or not... I would have much rather asked her myself out on a date, I find that the grapevine thing adds to very odd confrontations when you do end up talking to the person.... However, it couldn't even be that simple... we're talking about Jesse's little sister here... so I figured that information collection time could be put to good use.... so I used the time to talk to Jesse and see what the deal was with her... if she still liked me and see if she's cool with me hanging out with her little sister. Turns out she's fine with me liking her sister... which I don't really trust, but she's the one saying it's cool....
So over the past few days I've been getting to know Liz and she's really fun, attractive and I'm finding that every time I talk to her, I like her more. My grapevine friends have told me that Liz is concerned about what jesse's feelings are going to be about the situation... which is why she doesn't really want to give me a chance... on the other hand my friends also informed me that if it weren't for jesse being in the picture I probably could have been dating Liz a while ago, so I've got that going for me.
This is all speculation right now, I don't know Liz that well and I'm working on getting to know her better... like I said, what I do know, I've liked... and she seems to be opening up to me more. Any advice would be appreciated on where I go from here... or if I should just quit where I am due to Jesse or what..... I'm at a bit of a crossroads, I don't know which direction to go with this... any HELP would be appreciated.
