The great thing about P&N topics getting posted in OT is you get to see the truly ignorant people post on these topics. For instance, did you know that Jeb has already surrounded himself with almost all of the same people his brother did? All while trying to claim he is his own man?

Doesn't necessarily mean much at this stage. He's tapping the Bush family network, just as I'm sure Hillary is tapping the Clinton network. Remember, his brother did win the Presidency twice. We can make fun of GW all day, but he did win. Jeb would be foolish not to tap that kind of experience and know-how, particularly when it's so close to home.

And who knows he may need someone shot in the face some day.

My prediction: the GOP pays a heavy price for the last 8 years of particularly idiotic, corrupt and counter-productive antics. The internet and level of media scrutiny on political records have allowed people to mitigate their short memories to a degree, the clear pattern of things sucking when the GOP is in charge, and the Dems fixing things, will be even harder to ignore. They've fucked themselves over so many times in grand fashion that a bitter defeat in 2016 should come as no surprise. Whatever pride they had after winning an election with the lowest voter turnout since 1942 will be ancient history after voters send them another bitch slap in 2016.

President Hillary. Get ready.

I have to admit, I despise Hillary. I want to vote Republican. But it's not so much Jeb or Romney that worry me, it's their party. With a Republican in the White House they'd hold all of the cards for at least two years with only a possible filibuster to stand in their way, and the congressional Republicans have supported so many idiotic and frankly anti-American bills over the last decade that I couldn't stomach giving them that kind of power.

I'd be glaring at the sheet as I bubble in my vote, but I might just have to do my part to keep the stalemate going. It's still early and things could change, but I'd need a VERY strong and concrete pledge of some sort from Romney or Jeb to minimally indulge their more retarded colleagues in congress.

I'm glad that I wasn't the one in his shoes having to make the decisions.

I think W thought the same thing about his 'presidency,' but Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rove appreciate your understanding though

I think short of being part of the wealthiest 5%, a politically active evangelical holy roller or a just a plain ol GOP sockpuppet, voting for any of those idiots is outright lunacy. Another Bush in office or a Koch Bro. servant becoming president will not bode well for this country, of that I have no doubt whatsoever.

And...?

I'm saying you play to win in politics, on both sides. Everyone on that list won presidential elections, one of them is a highly celebrated President. You can disagree with their policies all you like, you can even hate them personally, but they know how to win elections as proven by their track record.

If you had cancer, would you turn down the expertise of the best cancer surgeon in the world because he was a young-earth creationist, ardently pro-life, thinks it's America's God-Given duty to spread freedom around the world via military force and is a fat billionaire? No, you would not.

I think it is fantastic that you want to vote GOP even though you know they are idiotic and anti-American.

It's not unusual at all to despise both parties.

He "wants" the one that speaks more towards the liberties we hold dear, but he also knows how badly they fail to stay honest. I'm sure Jeb could give a decent speech, but none of us will trust him.

Mark this spot. Jeb Bush will win the next presidental election, and will be re-elected for a second term.

Romney will be Vice President pick.

Americans are tired of a Democrat president. They want a White conservative president for a change.

We know who his father and brother are. We know that he has done nothing for the past decade except sit on corporate boards. It's enough.

What makes you think I look at Democrats any differently? Both parties happily wipe their ass with logic, common sense, honesty and the Bill of Rights itself when it's politically convenient.

Putting Republicans or Democrats in near-absolute power intentionally is choosing between burning to death and dying of hypothermia, respectively.

Yes, I am sure it seems that way.

Bush will win because to the average American.
Obama is taken over the Internet
Obama is ruining healthcare
Obama is weak on terror and ISIS is going to invade our land with thier naval force. We need to go to war to stop it.
Obama is a Muslim
Obama ruined the economy with socialism
Obama wants to take your guns

People forgot about the last 8 years of Bush.

lolno, that does not describe the average US voter, that describes the average Republican voter. The average voter might sympathize with some of those points, but that's all.

This is a wager bet not a political discussion.

My last presidential prediction was 100%

I predicted Romney nomination and the loss to Obama.

Bush will win because to the average American.
Obama is taken over the Internet
Obama is ruining healthcare

So much for your non-political intention putz, just fuck off. This tread needs to be locked ASAP

Isn't that kind of like saying, "Why exactly do people think Charles Manson was bad? If you remove the murders and the cult stuff, what are your complaints?"

Oh, and you'll note that I left Godwin's Rule intact. You're welcome.

I just wanted to see if that's people's primary complaint about him, and I guess it is.

The lies upon which the wars were sold.

The "us versus them" response to 9/11, and the War on Terror as the continual excuse for strongarm diplomacy with other countries.

The massive increase in "Defense"' spending and the neglect of other domestic (and international) activities that came with that.

The fact that he surrounded himself with a pack of neocon wolves who care not one hoot about the promises on which Bush was elected.

Oh yeah, the ongoing doubts as to whether he truly was "elected"!

Shall I go on?

Disclaimer: I despise that man and what his administration did to the world. Fuck him.

But why attack Bush? The things you described I don't think should be ascribed to the person himself necessarily. If Barack Obama was president then or if it were Hillary Clinton, do you honestly think things would be different during the last decade?

Jeb stands a decent chance at winning the nomination.

He will not pick Romney as a running mate, because that would be dumb and everyone hates Romney.

It is unlikely he will win the general election due to the general unpopularity of his broad platform and systemic advantages democrats have in presidential elections.

He should have been in that spot instead of Dubya.

But I guess he mighta helped his Bro get there.

I do not see it myself.

I've met the guy myself, still wouldn't vote for him these days.
