Oh yea, almost forgot to add.
What happens ALL THE TIME and EVERY TIME when republican policies fail miserably, they then go after the minorities in an attempt to save face.
The mothers on welfare, the Blacks, the Gays, the Muslims, the illegals, the Hispanics.
On the plus side?
That scheme will not work. Not this time....

I predict that we'll all be in here complaining about something or another for the duration of the year and when next year comes we'll do the same thing all over again.

Scotus nominee(s) that the liberals hate.

The scotus is the big victory here. Can possible drive multiple nails into the liberal agenda coffin over the next 4 years.

Trump makes it #1 priority to get a bust and portrait of himself into the WH before he is impeached for one of his numerous boneheaded moves.

1. Big tax cut passed through. Trump might actually be uneasy with it once someone tells him how it increases the deficit, but he will do it anyways.

2. Marked increase in deportations as ICE has limitations lifted. Expect some tear jerking stories about families broken apart. I expect that there will be a standoff situation that will draw protests. There will likely be a poster boy for immigration, like a Michael Brown of deported people.

3. Big Islamic terrorist attack on the homeland. Probably hundreds killed. This will be Islam poking Trump early on.

4. Trump will appoint a judge very much like Scalia to the Supreme Court. Charismatic, religious, conservative, etc.

5. Trump will figure out a way to reduce Muslim immigration. He will probably lose a court case taken up by activists, and he'll say something which will cause the leftist media to be horrified and accuse him of disrespecting the judicial branch.

6. He might mess with the trade deals, and then watch with dismay as the stock market loses thousands of points because of a few things he says at a press conference. He actually is intimidated after this happens and walks most of it back.

They will let him run wild for a year while he rubber stamps the GOPs cuts to SS and medicare, then when they get sick of him they'll impeach him, put pence in, and go back to claiming they are the party of reagan. They will claim they were always against trump, and when he is gone they will blame him for all the terrible things that happen when they cut the safety net out from millions of people.

While Medicare and Medicaid are bar none the biggest issue our budget is facing I don't see the Repubs touching it as way too many of their bread and butter constituency benefit from it.

I think they probably will change the entitlements. Trump doesn't really have any leverage over the GOP congress, and he can't be seen as opposing their agenda.

What really sucks is his VP choice. Under Trumps presidency I expect Pence to be the most powerful VP of all time in the things that will get delegated his way. Perhaps not even Cheney will compare by the time everything is said and done.

If only Trump picked someone like Joh Huntsman for VP. =(

So the end of gay marriage and legalized pot?

"1. Disarm federal regulatory agencies
2. Fire EPA lawyers
3. Blockade federal funds for sanctuary cities
4. Cut funding for agency self-promotion
5. Direct small business funds … to small business
6. Eliminate the Export-Import Bank
7. Reduce Federal Funding for the Ivy League
8. Finish the task of VA reform
9. Open the books on federal employee pensions
10. Cut federal funding to municipalities paying lavish salaries to public employees."

Let's see how much he moves on in the next year.

Their pensioners also use SS and will get all bent out of shape if they alter the terms. They should institute a cap on the qualifying salary to prohibit those with excessively large incomes from drawing from the pool since they don't need it. Personally I believe that if your retirement income exceeds 100k you shouldn't be able to draw from it anyway.

Didn't Ryan say on 60 minutes he was going to be targeting Medicare?
Why would they care if it is the bread and butter of their constituency? Much of their constituency vote against their own interests.

AMD will have more competitive (even better in several classes!) performance/price products compared to both Intel and nVidia...still get crushed in sales by both.

It's one thing to vote against their interests as you see it and reelecting the guy who took away your free healthcare or made it significantly more expensive.

Not if you're gullible enough to believe it's actually Obama's fault.

Not if your religion prohibits you from voting for someone who refuses to outlaw abortion or gay marriage.

Continued job growth that sputters the later the year gets.

Widening inequality.

And

Yeah that is where I was going.

Prediction. When Trump does bad things he'll be jumped on. When he does anything right it will be spun as wrong. The world ends because I'm sick of this crap and I've almost finished my Ice-9 experiment.

Regulations aren't killing coal its natural gas. Put a fork in coal already. We'll still need some of the cleaner coal for industry applications but with more plants shifting over to natural gas there is no reason to levy mountain tops anymore. Also now that renewables like Solar and wind are cheaper, its causing record development in these industries outpacing coal two to one. And despite tumps neanderthal view of the world we'll need to continue the switch to renewables.

And if he touches federal lands like wilderness areas parks and monuments he'll be in for big trouble, Americans love their parks etc.

You have to have a bubble first before the crash. Trump will lay the groundwork by making a massive tax cut, gutting regulations (especially Dodd-Frank) thus setting us up for a massive recession/depression a few years down the road. Especially if the GOP is successful in gutting the safety net as well as Social Security and Medicare. Obama laid the groundwork for 2017 being a decent year economically, but a lot is dependent on how fast interest rates rise.

Use GWB as a pattern-but with someone at the helm a whole lot more reckless and not even a superficial understanding of his office and you have a pretty good idea what is facing us. On the positive side, odds are he won't start his own war-unless someone irritates him.

Prediction. When Trump does bad things it gets written off as "liberal mainstream media" and "fake news", affording him a smokescreen for disastrous decisions which keep his supporters blindly faithful.

The market is demanding renewables thanks to ever increasing state RPS, customer requirements, and installed costs that have fallen off a cliff the last few years. Basically every major coal operating utility has reaffirmed their plans to continue retiring aging coal generators rapidly over the next few years and buy renewables/ng

Interestingly wind power is has quietly become a Republican darling and trying to restrict it now will generate a shitload of backlash from red places like Texas, Iowa, Kansas, Wyoming, Oklahoma, etc.

It's going to be a little less than 3 weeks before Trump becomes the new POTUS. We are in for major changes. More changes than anyone could fathom. What are your predictions?

*Obamacare
*Economy
*Immigration
*Welfare
*SSI, Medicaid
*The Wall
*Education
*Tarrifs
*Ban on Muslims
*War on ISIS, Terrorism
*China, Russia
*Supreme Court Pick
*Trump's Popularity
*Bringing Jobs Back to America
*The Environment

Trump is going to go into his new role as POTUS with a ton of fanfare. From the people who have voted for him. But, when the party is over and he's 6 months into his job people are going to want results. If he's not able to gain traction he's going to dig deeper in his bag of tricks. That's when we could see mass deportations of all illegals. This could cause much panic among all immigrants. Legal and illegal. The economy could go straight into a tailspin. Because of his ego I wouldn't be surprised if he starts to attack certain groups. We will probably see many more protests in our major cities.

Republicans doing their best to kill a recovering economy. Which they will blame on Obama, cause it could not ever, never be their fault.

I'll bite.
1. Obamacare as we know it right now will be ended, it will be replaced by expanding coverage of previous laws and new ones written as band-aids.
2.Economy will continue to improve.
3.Immigration- legal immigration will be scaled back and illegal immigrants will face faster hearings and more deportations. Self deportations will increase.
4.SSI-Medicaid will be about the same.
5.The Wall will be under construction, it will include different border controls and won't be the great wall of China as envisaged by the left.
6.Education alternatives will get greater support from the Feds. Charter schools, trade schools etc.
7.Tariffs will increase on some imported goods. Trade wars will be threatened.
8.No ban on Muslims, but closer examination of immigrants and visas alng with better tracking methods.
9.ISIS and terrorism will still be a problem.
10.Worse relations with China, better with Russia.
11.Most excellent Supreme Court pick, one already on the list.
12.Trump will continue to be popular with Americans.
13.More jobs and better economy.
14.No change in the actual environment, better fiscal policy on programs.
My opinion is that the country will be incrementally better off. Leftists and Democrats will be increasingly angry.

So you envision something that has not happened under any Republican controlled Government in the last seventy years?

So far that's not been the case. Ford stays in Michigan and that doesn't count in fact it's bad according to some. I expect him to be completely out of his depth but not every second. While some will do as you say the reverse will be true. He'll be all bad or all good.
