Predictions for the ranks of this series of consoles?

After watching the E3 trailers released over the last couple days. I am most certainly going to get a 360 and Wii. The PS3 is just too expensive, and theres only one game im remotely interested in, Killzone, and the only video ive seen was rendered.

Final Fantasy 7? GTA? If you play RPGs or strategy games in general, you basically need to use a playstation. If you want to play sports and FPS, something else can suit you better.

I think it will be close race. Yes, 360 has the lead. But the Playstation name will still sell the PS3 like hotcakes even with the price. As for the Wii, I really don't see how people can't want it? So I see each console selling around 40 million units or so. So yeah, Sony will lose huge market share and will it be enough to get them out of the huge red hole they are currently in?

I could see the Wii winning it. PS3 is too expensive to achieve dominance, the 360 has too few games, while the Wii has Nintendo's entire content library, plus sega's, and is guaranteed to have a couple great exclusive games.

In the US the Wii and XBOX will probably sell the most units with the PS3 behind. I think a TON of people will get a Wii either their only console or as a second console, especially if it starts at $199 as rumored.

In terms of sales, definitely Wii>Xbox 360>PS3. Who wants to pay what the PS3 is gonna cost when the X360 is just about the same thing?

I was really kind of inpressed by the Wii presentation today. I still don't like the name though. I want to play tennis on it really bad. I'd buy it just for that one game.

A $199 console at launch? I like that. And I heard that you'll be able to download games for older Nintendo consoles, though I haven't run across any info on that recently.

Thats what I'm thinking. I don't think price will have a big factor in the long run. Although I think the Wii will sell a lot more at start compared to the PS3.

The Nintendo Conference really got me excited for the Wii. I'm going to pick it up at launch, however I'll wait awhile on the PS3. Even with Blu-Ray $600 is a lot for a console in my opinion.

i think it'sa ridiculous argument to say that the PS3 will win because of its 1080p and blu-ray capabilities. i think less than 15% of americans of hdtv, let alone 1080p. and the fact that it has a blu-ray player means nothing to most people as well. has there even been a decision as to whether or not hd-dvd or blu-ray is the dominant format?

what the ps3 has going for it is its reputation and fan base, and from the craptatistc E3 debut it's going to need all the loyalty it can keep.

i'll be purchasing the wii to go along with the 360.

I know a lot of you have hdtv's, but keep in mind this is a tech forum and we definitely don't represent the mainstream. Most people don't have hdtv or give 2 shats about it. Especially not 1080p. People are satisfied with DVD and I doubt you will see the quick adoption of bluray/hddvd like you saw with dvds. People didn't need to buy new expensive tvs to take advantage of dvds. So the whole PS3 has blueray arguement doesnt really hold water imo because 90% of us dont care about blueray to begin with. Several years down the line when hdtvs become more comonplace yes, but by then there will be new consoles on the market.

I don't know, it's weird but it seems like the Xbox 360 launched and none of my friends really cared. There were no killer games for it really...

I'll definately buy a Wii, because I know I'll be able to afford it. Time will tell on the 360 vs PS3... really depends on games.

A lot probably depends on how fast the PS3 drops its price, which I suppose means how fast they can drop the cost of the blu-ray players. If they keep the PS3 at $600 for much longer than a year and a half, I don't think it will sell to well. Of course, they probably won't drop the price unless sales begin to stagnate.

If Wii goes for $200, they win by default. Everyone will pick one up just to play around with it because it's so damn cheap, of course a lot of these people will have an Xbox or PS3 for other games. But Wii will have the largest install base.

Based on the past though seems like the PS series has had a larger number of popular games.

The E3 lineup for 360 this year is huge.
