Predictions on lowest memory prices we will see in next 3 months

Specifically for 128 MB PC133 generic. Is 7 ns CAS2 and 7.5 ns CAS3? Or does it depend on something else?

Which settings in BIOS make up the 2-2-2 that everybody is talking about? What should the optimal settings be for Page Idle Time, Precharge Time, RAS Active Time, CAS Latency, and RAS-to-CAS Delay? I'm running PC133 Micron (probably CAS3) on an AMD 750 Mainboard at 100 MHz, so the memory should be able to handle the optimum.

Its the CAS and RAS setting that are 2-2-2 or 3-3-3

My theory on memory prices: all else equal, prices go up when M$ is about to release new bloatware, otherwise they tend to go down. And I don't believe M$ is letting any pigs out of the pen anytime soon. Thus, the low trend idgaf13 speaks of could well be true.

All the major companies, Dell, Compaq are forcasting slower than expected sales of PCs this holiday season. I think Dell said they are projected around 15% growth while the guys on wallstreet were thinking around 17%. Don't quote me on the numbers, but this lead to the drop in ram prices. The prices won't pick up anytime soon. My prediction is that they will drop till the end of the year. Then they will remain there throughout Q1. By then DDR and maybe Rambus will have taken a bigger hold and companies will start to shift their attention away from SDR. This will drive the price back up and I doubt they will ever be this low again.

This is my opinion so do not flame me, but I do encourage responses on the subject.

Seriously though Jin, you need some more ram man. Ram is really cheap out there, doesn't really matter if it drops $10 in a month or two. Buy it now and enjoy

I know, i know. 64MB sucks. With my webserver up, firewall, RC5, outlook, ICQ, 5 IE windows, NjStar Communicator, Asus Probe, virusscan,

i begin to feel seriously uncomfortable. But i'll get more next week when it drops another $5 at least.

It sucks to have to build new systems for others that're better than you own.
I'm building a TBird for 1 guy with 256MB of ram. Compared to my 64MB, there's no way i can continue building without upgrading my own pie could i....?
