I posted a Hot Deal concerning PC133 SDRAM CAS2 for $53, free shipping January 6, 2001.
I bought this memory stick, but there may be a problem with this deal. I'm posting here to inform you who may have purchased this memory in response to my posting.
After receiving my order, which arrived in good time, the memory functioned just fine, except my system will not boot up from a cold state. After first punching the power on button, the system will not boot. I would have to turn the power off, wait a few seconds, punch the button again, and then the system would boot OK.

However, that is not the problem. Premier Systems represented that the memory was CAS2. Their website said so. I downloaded and ran Sisoft Sandra. Sisoft Sandra reported that the memory was CAS3, with a "333" designation. I have stick of stick of PC100 CAS2 Mushkin Samsung Orignals, and Sisoft Sandra correctly identified this stick as CAS2.
I emailed Premier Systems on January 26, 2001, with this information, and asking for a response. They replied with a request for the markings on the memory stick they sent me.
On January 27, 2001, I sent Premier Systems an email containing the following:

"The markings on the memory stick I got from you are: On the stick-on labels:
"SHM16B 00C3A, QC PASS 3-51, PC133 128MB."
On each of the memory chips: "KIC 00487 TBS6408B4E-7".
The Sisoft Sandra report for this memory stick is as follows: "MOSEL
TM4SN64EPH-10 128MB 16x(8Mx8) SDRAM PC133U-333-542 (CL3 upto 133MHz)".
It is clear to me that the "333" reading means that the stick you sold me
has a CAS 3 rating rather than the CAS 2 you represented on your website.
In order to test the accuracy of Sisoft Sandra's functionality, Sisoft
Sandra reported the following for my 64MB Mushkin Samsung Original stick:
"Samsung KMM3 66S 823CTS-GH 20676000 64MB 8x(8Mx8) SDRAM PC100-222-622 (CL3
upto 100MHz) (CL2 upto 100MHz)", which is correct."

As of this posting date, I have not received a reply to this last email from Premier Systems.

Hmm, I will add that to my list of OCZ, PCTOYZ and Overclockerz. Yet, there are always brave ones who would try anything.

I have 3 128MB PC133 Cas2 Dimms from premier systems and they work perfectly. No errors or anything. When I upgraded my system with this RAM, I too had this problem (not booting from a cold state). I have Duron 600 OCed to 950. I took out the duron and re-penciled the bridges. The problem went away.

I hope you guys are wrong about this one....

I just ordered 3 sticks of 256 cas2 PC-133.(7ns)

I was told that if I didn't like the memory that they would pay for shipping back to them
and give me a full refund...no restocking fee.

I spoke to Leo...

I will post on this as I get more info for you guys.

I'll be watchin' this thread...

I've ordered 3x128 megs from them. All started on 133 right out of the box. One chip did not start at cas2, but after warming it up, I easily switched to cas2. I'm am now using all three ram at 140 cas2 (142 was tested and passed) with absolutely no problems starting or with stability. Maybe this involves something else like mb incompatibility. For the same price as cas3 you get cas2, no complaints here.

I've got 2 sticks of PC133 Cas2 from premier. They won't run at all if you turn memory tweaks above 'medium', but they seem to run at 140 CAS2 now, but I have I/O voltage at 3.40 instead of 3.30. They wouldn't run CAS2 at all when I first got em ; don't know why. If you buy this RAM, try upping you I/O voltage, it helps. They also managed to screw my order up and ship me 2 sticks on my second order , which was for only one. The funny thing was that the 2 modules they sent were different actual chips. I forgot the manufacturers offhand, but neither was a namebrand. One had an L at the beginning I think and the other one a Y. Had a bit of pain getting my order refunded and all, but eventually got it sorted out. Near as I cna tell, all working there are idiots. But there RAM seems ok. Don't know about the timings problem. I have an Abit KT7-Raid by the way with an OCZ store Tbird 800 running at a conservative 893 (105*8.5) in an SX1030. For those wanting to buy a system similar, get one of the SX1030's. They have extreme cooling options, lots of room and plenty of power.

I only buy memory from either Crucial, Micron or Mushkin. Their prices aren't really that much more and at least they stand behind their product and have good customer service.

Received the following email from Premier Systems today. Their response is first, followed by my initial email. They seem to want to work with me on this issue.

Dear Joe,

What are the markings on the two memory modules??? we will gladly replace them
if they are not the correct chips.

Subject: Incorrect ram received. cas 2 ram is actually cas 3 ram.

This email concerns a purchase of 512 MB of ram I recently purchased from
Premier Systems.

Your ram located at website:
http://www.premiersystem.com/25pc7nssdram.html

I recently purchased 2-256 meg sticks (512 meg total) of this ram and received
incorrect ram. The ram on your website is clearly marked CAS2 pc133 ram, yet
runs at cas3 at pc133 as verified by Sisoft Sandra. The markings on the chip
show it is 7 ns ram, however it does not run at cas 2 at 133 mhz.

It is clear to me that the "333" reading means that the stick you sold me
has a CAS 3 rating rather than the CAS 2 you represented on your website.

Please send me 2 sticks of CAS 2 pc133 ram as ordered or contact me to see how
we can get this issue resolved.

Thank You

I got a 128meg stick from them and am running at 142mhz currently at cas2, with all the memory tweaks on a Abit KT-7raid maxed out. And I was at some point going to buy another stick from them.

I ordered 2 sticks of 128MB kingmax PC150 and I got them very fast. The price was reasonable and shipping very fair.

Oh one more thing, they send me 2 stick of 256MB instead of 128's.

I planned to order another 2 sticks of 128 kingmax 150 and see if lightning strike twice.

Doesnt this just show their lack of competance?... great you recieved 2 sticks of memory that you werent supposed to get. But also you ordered brand name kingmax 150's which are rated to go where their supposed to go. The whole problem here is not only their lack of customer service and competance but the fact that their generic pos ram is not what is advertised to alot of people.
