By small do you mean too short? or too narrow?

Because i've used many microsoft mice, including the Bluetooth one, and have owned a lot of logitech mice, the MX700 currently, and the MX700 is probably the largest mouse i've ever used.
And seeing as how the MX500 is the same but with a cord i would assume it to be quite a large mose also

Too small in all dimensions, width, height and length. The most comfortable mouse I have used is the microsoft intellimouse explorer wireless. It is quite large, bigger than an MX 700. I dont like the way the MX 700 tapers so much. None of the logitech mice fit my hands well, fortunatley I don't care, because I don't have any use for them since I have a boomslang.

I have kinda same question.
I am using MX500 right now.. which is 800dpi. Is it worth to change to 1000DPI? will it make a great difference? or just wasting money?

I doubt it will be a huge diffference. The best always carries a premium

Actually, I have read that the sensor that is used in the Viper is really the same standard 800DPI sensor that is used in the MX line of mice, but with a special lense that Razer has designed. From what I have read, the lense actually slightly magnifies the area it is scanning, thus making it equivalent to 1000DPI.

Yeah i had a boomslang and i never really liked the low profile style design, i now have a microsoft wireless mouse and it fits in my palm just great. but thats just me, looks like the new design would be better, especially with no moving parts i had to clean that old boomslang all the dang time.

Thats interesting. If that's true I think it is a very cheap and crappy gimmich. Could you please provide a link to this information?

The point I am trying to make is that if you like big mice so much, the Viper looks like a childs mouse compared to an MX700, let alone the Intellimouse.

Does anyone have any better pictures of this mouse? It looks somewhat like the boomslang in the small picture, but the enlarged pic has very poor detail. It looks more like a "money shot" for all the lighting inside rather than to show off the shape. Does it have the 2 buttons on the left and right side of the body?

I never said I was going to buy a viper. I probably wont. I like my boomslang.

Now if they made an optical version of the 2100 I would be all over that.

Making a 2100 DPI Optical sensor doesn't seem to be cost-effective, but then again paying $100 for a mouse isn't really "cost-effective" either. I think it simply comes down to the fact that Razer does not have the resources to develop a sensor like that themselves, and Agilent has no desire to develop such a high-resolution sensor for a limited target market.

It's difficult to see in this pic but it looks like the mouse only has 3 buttons (2 + wheel). Unless that long white/clear strip is a button, it looks like the mouse is going backwards. There aren't very many good pics on that site. What a bummer!

That's a picture of the right side though. Here's a picture of the left side, looks the same though.

Alright I just got off the tech support chat on their page. The mouse has 3 buttons. two regular and the wheel

Personally I NEVER use the extra buttons, but I know alot of people do.

I like the company though, and I want them to keep making gaming mice so im going to buy one.

I just learned that there is going to be a pro version of the viper. No details yet. Tech support at razor told me about it, sales isnt talking, although I am absolutley sure they are just lying and dont want to give out details

No prob.

Personally im conflicted about this mouse. I go back and forth on it. However, if it gets god reviews, I will buy one. I would rather support razor than logitech, because razor will continue to develope mice that are made for gaming specifically and I want a company like that around.
