This is bad news, not only because gas prices are high, but also because people seem WILLING to pay those prices. If the gas companies see drivers willing to pay $3 a gallon, what incentive do they have to lower prices?

What do you expect us to do? We need gas to drive to work so we can make money, no car no money (unless you live in city, walk or use public transportation).

The thing that pisses me off is that they could build cars that run on water and yet we still burn gasoline.
Dumbest post of the day.

I'm hoping the OP was referring to hydrogyn fuel.

I said Unless!!! I personally don't live in the City, i live out in the suburbs where a car is required to get to work since its 32 miles away and i'm sure that is the same situation for others.Originally posted by: mordantmonkey

this is why my next car will be a diesel. With gas prices continuing to rise, diesel cars will be more and more viable.

Diesel owns hybrids when it comes to gas mileage

Anybody else still consider the price of gasoline a bargain when compaired to other products? Go check out how much it costs to get a gallon of soda, that's where you're getting ripped off. Gas still seems like a bargain to me.

Doesn't seem that way when the memory of only paying $0.88 per gallon is still so fresh in my mind. I find it hard to believe oil production costs have tripled in six years.

You don't buy 15 gallons of milk or soda a week do you?
