Prescott VS Northwood

I currently have a 2.8 ghz northwood, and i'm just curious which is better the prescott or my northwood. I've noticed the prescott is cheaper, and a lot of people have told others to go with northwood instead. Could someone give me some insight into this. Thanks

northwood is better up to 3.5ghz-ish. from that point on, the prescott really shows it's true self.

You can't tell the difference. Get whichever is cheaper.

If you don't get to these speeds go with the Northwood. Prescott's tend to run hotter too so if you want a cool running processor Prescott is not for you

For the dozen or so Northwood and Prescott's I have owned, The Northwood runs cooler and performs 5-10% better at comparable clock speeds.

The LGA775 Prescotts are a real beast to cool.

As usual, IMHO.

Current owner of 1x3.4 Prescott @ 3.8, 1x3.6 Prescott @ 4.0 - both LGA775 and a P4 2.8c and a P4 3.0c
