Jared coralled a bunch of trust fund elite 20 year olds to circumvent the normal channels and address the supply problem. As you have reported here, that went about as well as expected.Us as well. We are critical infrastructure, and it was a goddamn food fight and price gouging to get PPE in the spring. We were shipping masks between ourselves across the country as we couldn't get supplies even when paying high prices back in Mar/early April.
We did have contact with DHS and WH to escalate and assist. The people in charge had no clue of processes or what to do. Wasted a bunch of our time gathering info for spreadsheets and bullshit like that, but we never got anything. Eventually gave up. That's what pissed me off the most, just the shell shock and incompetence by the feds. Utterly useless.
Our global procurement system was able to kick in and deliver, basically by using our relationships (and money) with our suppliers, but it was really hand to mouth there for several critical weeks. Any hiccup and we would have had to shutdown.
