The only really new piece of info (for me anyway) was his statement that a new UN resolution would be put to a vote regardless of the outcome. Good decision, I think.

Also nice to see him taking a mellow stance on Turkey. He was well-coached on that one, obviously.

Overall, it was nothing special...just typical political BS (let's play Dodge the Question, boys and girls), the staple of every president.

There you go again...calling me a bad name. The missles were declared in the report the submitted to the UN, and they are only slightly beyond range. Frankly, I think they're nuts to get rid of them, they're going to need them.

My 2c: He messed up that Vietnam question pretty bad, although still better than normal, seeing as typically he can't even deliver a prepared speach correctly. The whole "its my responsibility and duty under the Constitution" is rather disturbing. Finally despite how many times he said otherwise to save himself from a disgrace at the UN, its very apparent he has made up his mind - especially at the end when he basically rejected any consideration of the British fix to the resolution.

no wonder that cartoonist got a pulitzer, I go to cagle.com regulary and save the best comics, have over 2300 from last year alone, political cartoons tell you alot about the issues that normal news articles dont say. Highly recomend looking for the non us cartoons cagle has.

Clay Bennett, the pulitzer winnder is definetly my favorite cartoonist there

If it does come down to war, fast forwards to the end of that war... Nearly everyone that is complaining/whining now will probably be waiving their flags after the victorious end of the war.

Actually he did say he had them. It was in the declaration and everybody knew about them. After looking at the test data that the Iraqis gave them UNMOVIC determined that in some of the tests the missiles had demonstrated the capability of exceeding the range limit by 15 miles or so. Iraq disputes that, but it is up to UNMOVIC to determine the legality of the weapons.

In related news Saddam Destroyed 6 missles out of the suspected 30 or so al rassams he has today. I told this was'nt about WMD. Never has been. We need a base in the middle east and Saddam needs to go.

Not sure what your point is? I'm saying that the United States shouldn't have been supporting Saddam back in the 80s, I felt that at the time. He was their man in the mideast. Now he's getting in their way. I don't think that the US should be supporting Israel today so long as they're in possession of WMD, killing Palestinians and invading other countries. I don't believe the US should be invading any country, Israel or Iraq. I'm pointing out the hypocrisy that is easily seen by those outside the US and especially by Israel's neigbours.

I think the point he was trying to make is that we don't want another 9/11 on our hands, especially with someone as powerful as Sadam. He needs to be removed from power, and any fvcking nimrod who doesn't think so should be bitch slapped. Inspections aren't going to work, and that has been PROVEN. I don't know what fvcking cloud France, German, and all the stupid protestors have been living on - Giving that fvcker more time is useless. The easiest way to remove him is to do it ourselves since nobody else seems to have the balls to do so.
