You think it's considered insider trading if one his aides bought a bunch of shares in arms companies before Biden opened his mouth?
Create the demand, cash in. Capitalism at it's finest. And some say he and Al jazera Gore are socialist.

Its not on the list of the 23, Check the article and it clearly mentions this along with banning "assault weapons"

People should still be worried about what he tries to do because he has made his views on this issue well known. Why would he say he wants those things? Because he wants them banned

Not that I support Obama in any way, but most of those seem agreeable. But sadly even if I can agree with some of them, none of them would have stopped the CT shooting had they been in place beforehand, so in the end, it's still nothing more than political chest beating. They weren't his guns, and the mother who owned them wasn't convicted or committed and would still have had them.

I do agree with the ones for educating the public on gun violence and keeping guns away from family members who you know to have "issues". That might have struck a nerve with the shooter's mother to keep a tighter watch on her weapons. Provided they don't completely spin any kind of "reeducation" campaign to brainwash people into demonizing guns like Eric Holder's grand plan.

Obama may say he wants a weapons ban but hes going to leave that to congress where he knows it doesn't have a chance in hell at passing.

It's the only reason Bush W "supported" the ban. Not really, but he gets to say he did while knowing it will never get to his desk and play both sides of the fence.

A couple of those 23 though are questionable. Allowing AG Eric Holder to classify new groups of people to who shouldn't have guns and submit them to the check system so "nobody falls through the cracks"... we know how his dumb ass feels about guns, he could arbitrarily say any group of people he wants. Anybody of any religion, state, opposing political party, etc could be considered "dangerous" on a whim and added to the NICS block list.

It's easy to say something easily agreeable on like "only mentally ill people shouldn't have access to guns" until you realize they can just change the criteria of "mentally ill" to fit anyone they want. :sneaky:

It's like how you can call anyone a terrorist and due process goes out the window.

I see they balanced the sexes and races of the children, but they did not balance the sexes of the parents, 3 mothers and 1 father? White house staff is slipping.

I didn't see the obligatory gay mentally handicapped in a wheelchair kid, whats up with that discrimination?

He needs executive order number 24, appoint someone to go around and remove the stick from the ass of all the crazy gun nuts who will still bitch about nothing after reading the previous 23.

Can't. Those sticks are protected by the second amendment. They are deadly when expelled at huge pressure by a well regulated up tight colon.

Still legislation that needs to be blocked.

No one thought that Obama would actually try something unconstitutional with an executive order. To do so would have been political suicide.

The fact that Biden even hinted at the fact they were considering the option is what I found insulting and moronic.

He never hinted any such thing. How far gone off the deep end have people gone?

"The president is going to act," said Biden, giving some comments to the press before a meeting with victims of gun violence. "There are executive orders, there's executive action that can be taken. We haven't decided what that is yet. But we're compiling it all with the help of the attorney general and the rest of the cabinet members as well as legislative action that we believe is required."

Biden said that this is a moral issue and that "it's critically important that we act."

Why wouldn't it say police officer?

Resource officer seems to allow more flexibility and could mean contractors.

So basically the NRA seems to get the armed guards it was calling for, yet still hating on Obama for giving them what they were calling for.... awesome...

For the record I do not support vagina regulation either.

There's still plenty to be dissatisfied about, the president is asking for an 'assault weapon ban' for one. AW bans are inane and need to be opposed.

I vote right because I loathe socialism and gun grabbers but this hypocrisy has always cracked me up.

"I'm an America, I believe in freedom blah blah blah---"

/black guy with saggy pants walks down the street

"---there ought to be a law against that"

What happened to all the democrats that like guns and capitalism and the republicans that believe in equal civil rights and keeping greed and anti competition in check?

Those all seem like good ideas. Good on Obama for not jumping off the deep end like some of his crazier Democrat colleagues.

Very well played by Obama, let Biden say there will be some executive orders coming, let that stew the gun nights into a rabid frenzy, then when the EOs come they are incredibly benign and something the NRA already advocates. It makes the gun nuts look terrible and even the NRA put its foot in its mouth during the wait.

And then pull a Chicago by trying to affect availability of guns and ammo through taxes and fees. Walmart has cancelled all new ammo orders so something is up.

The Executive Orders all seem fairly logical, if not particularly effective.

A School Resource Officer also teaches classes and mentors kids, in addition to normal police work.

The left bashes the NRA for saying "Good Guy with a gun" but then praises Obama for using one of it's suggestions.

Unban me from carrying guns onto schools and I will do my part and volunteer myself a few hours a week.

I'd jump in front of bullets to protect kindergartners, but 'd rather shoot back first.

Maybe talk down a shooter... like what happened in CA.

But, by all means, don't let reality get in your way.

Oh ya, because in "reality" all these mass school shootings start by someone walking into a school and just waiting for someone to talk to. They only start opening fire when nobody has talked them out of it.

Have Repubs offered a better solution -- outside of the "mentally ill" bandwagong -- becasue all I hear is how bad Obama's proposals are.

Nothing in rebuttal is being offered next to those complaints as far as I've seen.

This looks good for PR, but any nutjob who really wants to kill people will do it. We have 300+ million people in this country, GL policing everyone at once.

I would prefer a sworn officer. The officer could then be trained to train the school staff. I don't think teachers / other staff should be given guns, but access to some body armor and a taser that shoots out to 25 or 30 feet away might work.

So a real world scenario that shows the value that could be gained in training people... you just brush it aside?

Good day, sir.
