If they haven't the honesty and imagination to realize, why are you investing yourself if maintaining "friendship" with them?Another frustrating aspect is that I tend to deal with friends that like to act centrist/impartial, but they tend to show their true colors when presenting outlandish remarks/evidence for their reasoning. An example would be how they suggest that Biden has dementia, or how given Biden's age, Harris will end up being the President. That usually devolves into stuff like "taking our guns" and other slippery-slope arguments that just don't make a ton of sense. The hard part for me is that they often bring up some random thing that I've never heard of, and I prefer not arguing about something that I don't know about, so I normally just have to concede with a remark like "I haven't heard about that." That sometimes leads to a "that's because the mainstream media is suppressing it!" I had that remark come up in regard to Middle East peace talks.
