Black people are, I guess, more likely to be religious, and that often goes with a side-order of homophobia, so I suppose that could be a factor.

But it could simply be that Buttigieg just has an overly 'white' and professional-class image and set of policy priorities? I'm not convinced sexuality is the important issue. Likely he's just not done well at reaching out to black voters.

It also comes down to practical matters - what contacts and networks candidates have built up over time. The Clintons, for example, seemed expert at cultivating black support, despite, from what I could see, not seeming to offer anything objectively better for black Americans than did other Democrats. They were just way better at that part of the political game. (Sanders has also been noticeably bad at it, though it seems like he's improved over time).

Lord, though, actually doing politics is a complicated business. Especially for Democrats, who have to juggle a whole truckload of different priorities, instead of just pandering ruthlessly to one shrinking interest group (in order to serve the interests of another one).

I’m not as optimistic as you on how big, will definitely depend on the Dem candidate. Trump still has a very large and very passionate following. He’s definitely drove many away but I think if the D candidates start getting out there promising to increase spending by many trillions of dollars that will absolutely drive people away and towards him. Who knows.

I don’t like some of what he’s done but I do love and appreciate how he’s come in and ripped the political paradigm to shreds. The country needed it. I loved Obama too, he had mistakes as all do but I thought he was overall a very good president. But it was time to wreck shop and shake things up and Trump certainly did that and honestly he country overall is doing pretty great right now.

So watching you parrot praise for Mayor Pete before and after this post is ... insincere, dishonest and especially retarded.
